Millenium Popo Beach Hotel, is a few distance to the Togo boarder. its located between Cotonu and the boarder of Togo. 
Hotel provide ambiance environments with great pools and open ground. Rooms are spacious but wifi is very poor.

MANAGEABLE HOTEL

If you live in West Africa and are accustomed to things like horrible internet, long wait times, and uncooperative staff, then this can really be a wonderful place.

The location is on an excellent stretch of lovely, well-maintained beach.  Don't expect to swim in the ocean for the currents are far too strong, but the large waves are fun and you can wade just deep enough to enjoy the waves.  The locals from the nearby fishing village pull in nets nearby almost every day and are always keen to have fresh faces helping out.  Don't be fooled by the number of people pulling; it's still hard work.
There is an amazing 3-piece swimming pool with differing depths that make it great for families with young children.  You can swim laps in the deeper end or just sit in one of the shallower pools with the young ones.
The housing is also lovely.  I recommend any of the 700-800 rooms as these are the suits nearest the beach.  The rear patios are lovely places to sit in the evening and all the rooms are equipped with mini fridges and A/C.  There are TV's, but with the beach and pool, I'm not sure why you'd ever turn one on.  The bedrooms and bathrooms are very nice and well equipped.
However, the food is not that good and the service staff is not always friendly nor helpful.  And the internet was non-existent even with very few other guests at the hotel.

Because of the remote location, running out to a nearby restaurant is not an easy option, but if you look at this as a very nice, self-service accommodation, you will be very well pleased.  If you go in looking for a full-service, resort experience; you will be sorely disappointed.  After all, it's all about expectations.

It's all about expectations...Great if expectations aren't high

I stayed overnight here whilst travelling around Benin with my Beninese friend. The hotel is located in the middle of nowhere. I am pretty sure the hotel was completely empty which was really nice because it was very quiet and calm but it was also a little bit creepy. The actual hotel is probably as luxury as you will find in Benin and was by far the best I stayed in whilst travelling there. The rooms were air conditioned and modern. The bathrooms were also really nice. The hotel is right next to a glorious unspoilt beach but just don't go in the sea - the currents are really dangerous. The hotel pool however was very good. Breakfast in the morning was really good and the staff were happy to make anything you asked. Overall I had a very pleasant stay but it would not be the sort of place I would stay for too long. It is very isolated!

A very strange place indeed!

I have been travelling around in the region for a while and have seen bad poor standards but this one wins by far and I honestly do not know how it can be that this place is even considered for any activity by multinationals or organisations operating in the area. 

I landed in the Millenium when our office in Benin took charge of organising the Regional Workshop we were organising in the country. The structure is decent but once you look closely you realise that it is poorly done, no maintenance and below zero service quality.

This staffs are terrible, I even doubt that they are being paid at all as they do not care or want to do any effort. The food is disastrous ...it is non discriminatory as breakfast, lunch or dinner are uneatable so no preference whatsoever on what meal to scratch! You probably will need to fast during your stay or suffer disgusting food served to you!

The internet connection is non existant so do not be fooled by what they mention on their site! you get the sign but nothing works!... 

This is surely one of my top worst experiences list and I would honestly advise you to pass on to any other option and not even stop and consider it,

Structure wise the hotel is fantastic. But the service is horrible. Unmotivated staff. very slow kitchen. and to cap it all, they will exploit you at any opportunity they have. i just checked out of the hotel today and they slammed me an 80,000 cfa bill for missing towels. even the hilton will never consider doing that. We jus ad a west african riders convention that was concluded today. If you want a hotel that loves enforcing rules and bringing up wonderful charges but has forgotten the main reason they have been set up (service) then Millennium Popo Beach hotel is your best bet.
