This is not to blame the personnel who was in general friendly and tried to do their best. But apparently the management does nothing in order to satisfy the customer. When we arrived the room was not ready despite the fact that it was announced one week before. The automatic room door did not work at all; after several trials we were given a normal key. Air condition did not work; it was not possible to open the windows because they were not protected with nets in order to avoid mosquitoes coming in. Power broke down in the middle of the night and did not come back until our departure. There was no hot water (they told us because of the lack of sunshine ...). Meals were not sufficient to satisfy a hungry stomach. Additionnally, they were not hot at all. The WiFi was slow; mostly, it did not work. We planned to have a nice weekend. What a deception! Never again!

A single disappointment!

I had a very bad start to the stay, as the superior room I had paid for was flooded and they put me in a horrible small, noisy room with no aircon and stairs you would not trust to last another day. I actually think it was a staff room. Unfortunately, I had paid in advance via hotel.com .. so could not get a compensation.
The room I got the following day was absolutely beautiful. Huge with a huge bathroom. The place is very peaceful and the beach beautiful. You can watch the local fisher men working. A pity you can not swim in the sea.
The beach bar has a beautiful view and nice staff. Would be nice it there had been a fence on the roof terrace  .. a bit dangerous! and it was very dirty in the afternoon as the cleaning was only done later.
There is only wifi in the reception/bar area.
Lunch and dinner delicious but breakfast under average. And only the last day we found out that you could actually get a croissant .. but had to order the omelette to get it (??)
All in all a nice stay in a beautiful place, and I would come back.

The hotel booked our airport transfer. I asked 3-4 times if they were absolutely sure that it was a big car that could take 3 persons and 3 big + 3 small suitcases. The car that turned up was a small car and we had to have our small suitcases on our laps .. with no aircon  that was a very long and horrible trip.

Lovely peaceful place - if you get the right room

I was going to stay for 4 days but left after the first night because the air conditioner flooded the room and then the power went out, mosquitoes in the room, disco on the beach, really nasty kids on the beach. The place has a very creepy vibe- staff rarely speak and are slow as molasses. Foodd is slow to appear and overcooked.

Bad experience

The resort is lovely and peaceful. If you do not speak French then be sure to make friends with the staff called Marcel. Most of the staff are really warm. The wifi did not work so well but an 'arrangement' was made for me. The food is great but note that there is TV in the rooms! Overall, it was what I wanted.....peace and tranquillity...

Peaceful

This location was like a diamond in the rough. A piece of the Caribbean in Africa. Very serene, the pool and the bungalows were very authentic. The beach bar and cabanas were a great surprise and my best part of the resort. However, the staff can be a bit racist, giving preferential treatment to the white guests, over the back guests. We even had a situation in which the owner walks up to a couple members of our group asking if they were guests and if not they needed to leave the beach immediately. Obviously, none of the other guests were asked this question while on the beach.
The breakfast is basic, bread and omelettes with coffee, and is pretty expensive for just that, and a piece of fruit is the same price as an entire breakfast meal. Also the lunch and dinner food is very delicious, however, it is more expensive than the other hotels and restaurants in the area. 
If you are going without children, you will want to get in the pool either very early in the morning or later in the evening, which is pretty standard as a lot of families frequent the hotel.
Only about 2 of the staff actually speak decent English, a couple of others can put together a few sentences, the rest cannot speak a word of English.
Despite all this, I would definitely go again, the location and amenities were spot on, and the overall price of the resort more than makes up for its shortfalls.
