Despite the property being more recently constructed and maintained in excellent, clean condition, and staff being very helpful and friendly, our primary incentive for choosing this property over other options and paying premium rates was the promised picturesque views. Regrettably, upon arrival, we discovered that the actual view from our room did not align with the enticing images presented. Instead, we were situated in a bottom-floor villa with a less-than-expected perspective of a pool under construction—a detail not shared both in the listing and during the reservation process. This disparity between expectation and reality has been disappointing, and I believe it's crucial to address this discrepancy for the benefit of future guests.

The couple that own the property was amazing as well as the employees, I can even begin to explain, you would have to go and get the experience yourself, trust me you will love the people and the place and location !!!!

My husband & I travel a lot, & Villa Cayo is absolutely one of our favorite accommodations ever. Our comfortable king sized bed faced beautiful ceiling to floor bay windows that looked out into the jungle. The kitchen was perfectly appointed, & we cooked many meals there. The decorations & extensive woodwork were just stunning. 
Our granddaughter joined us for 11 days of our 2 1/2 weeks there, & she had a gorgeous villa that looked out to amazing sunsets. She loved her private spot.
Virginia & Ken were kind, thoughtful, & very professional. She arranged a day trip to Tikal in Guatamala, & also the ATM cave, both with pickup at our villas.  
All this, & we were just 2 miles out of town…but it seemed we were miles from everything…so peaceful & lovely. Thank you Virginia & Ken for providing wonderful memories of Belize & Villa Cayo.

Absolutely beautiful experience!

 We stayed in Villa #7, a rooftop villa. Very unique and exceptionally well maintained. The views of jungle are breathtaking. The Owner, Virginia, goes absolutely above and beyond helping out with day trips and suggestions for every aspect of the day. All of her dinner recommendations were on point. I have seen some references to the location making it difficult to get around... not so.  True that walking would not be recommended, but Virginia has taxi drivers available in minutes. I'd like to give a shout out to Romel, he helps around the property and drives taxi. He gave us his number and we just called him directly multiple times for a ride to and from town, almost always available and on the rare occasion that he wasn't, Virginia immediately had someone else for us. Romel is a very nice and helpful person with a lot of useful information and insight into the area. 
 All the day trips that she arranged for us were perfect and better than expected. 
We would definitely stay here again. An added perc for us, she has a few very well behaved dogs that we truly enjoyed having greet us everyday.

Stay here! It is far superior to anything in town!

We originally booked this place for 4 nights, but extended our stay to 6 nights. We loved everything about the place. Great views from the hilltop location. Owners Virginia and Ken were very helpful, providing information about the area and booking tours. We stayed 4 nights in the top floor unit. This unit gives you a 360 degree view of the area. I loved the outdoor kitchen which allowed you to cook even in the rain as it had a roof over it. The last two nights we stayed in one of the four cottages that had a  nice view of the town in the distance and great sunsets. Both accommodations were spotlessly clean and had all the amenities you need. If we returned to the area, this would be our choice to stay. We loved everything about it.

The Best Choice for Exploring & Relaxing around San Ignacio

Beautiful nestled in the mountains. Well appointed, thoughtfully designed. Great hosts.

Virginia and Ken have managed to create something truly special; apart from being great hosts, their attention to detail is prevalent everywhere. All the comforts of home, spotlessly clean, very well located and those views!!!!  Thanks for having us, we will see you again.

Fantastic on all levels

This unique boutique property is private and a bird lovers paradise on the rooftop villa. Not close to amenities but with a few groceries the terrace kitchen was gr8, all utensils provided.
