We really loved it here, excellent hospitality, the food was amazing, beautiful setting (the thick forest makes each little cabin very private), tons of hummingbirds which were very entertaining, the list goes on and on.
If you’re thinking about staying, don’t hesitate. 
Do yourself a favor and plan at least one meal here!
We were very comfortable and the hot shower was the most relaxing I’ve had since I got here but there isn’t much in the way of WiFi or power. I’m sure they can help charge a phone or gps but if you can’t live without a hair dryer or you came to watch Netflix it could be tough.

We visited this lodge while visiting San Ignacio. The price seemed really good and we only needed to stay for one night so we decided to try Moonracer Farm. Unfortunately for personal reasons we had to change the last minute plans and had to leave the very same evening, but couple hours at the lodge was really beautiful. The jungle surroundings and nature sounds makes it a great place to experience something different. And the hosts Tom and Marge are such a beautiful people, for a short stay while we were there they made us feel so welcomed, gave lots of tips what to visit around. It was really so lovely to meet them and we just wished we could have stayed there for longer. If you love birds there is very big possibility to see toucans and at the lodge there is so many beautiful hummingbirds that you will be able to take some really good pictures. Simply very beautiful place, just book it and experience your stay in the nature. The place looks so much better than advertised in the pictures ;)

Marge and Tom were great hosts and very accommodating.  We stayed for 2 nights and had both breakfast and dinner at the farm.  Great food and great company!

It’s important that you and any others coming with you understand what you’re getting into.  There is no power in the rooms, although they will take devices to charge from their batteries/solar.  Tom was also willing to hook up a small generator to run my CPAP machine overnight.  No power means no A/C or fans and moving around a super dark jungle with limited light at night.

Tom and Marge have really built something special in Moonracer Farm. It's such a beautiful, secluded, magical space and we felt at home right away. They were amazing hosts and the whole experience felt like visiting old friends, not staying in a hotel. Tom and Marge were great at helping us plan out our excursions around San Ignacio and making sure we had what we needed. 

The cabins were rustic but very comfortable, with good showers and great memory foam mattresses. The porch was so pleasant at night. We especially loved the dozens of hummingbirds flocking around the main building.  

There is a kitchen available if you'd like to cook your own means, but don't. Just eat what Marge cooks. Seriously. Trust me. Especially the lemon bars.

We enjoyed a wonderful three-night stay at this fabulously well-run, homely, comfortable and friendly jungle retreat. Our simple wooden hut had a comfy bed and its own toilet.  A large, clean communal shower was just a few steps away along a gravel path laid between wonderful jungle vegetation. 
All meals are charged separately from the room rate. This means you can pick and choose if you eat in or out for breakfast and dinner.  A K^kitchenette is available for those wanting to self-cater.Coffee and tea are available there for all.
Marge's cooking is outstanding - take advantage of eating a truly delicious home cooked meal with plentiful portions and scrumptious desserts.  Marge and Tom sit down to eat with their guests every single night (respect!!) and have an endless number of fascinating to tell accumulated over the 11 years they have run the farm. 
You will eat your breakfast surrounded by hummingbirds - and have the chance to meet Julio - an incredibly knowledgeable local man who works with Marge and Tom.  He took us on a guided tour through a piece of land behind his village - absolutely untouched jungle with all the caves, plants, trees, ariel roots, climbing opportunities and caverns you could possibly wish for.  He has a vast knowledge of medicinal plants that he is happy to share and will lead you through caves and up trees for as long asyou want.  Lunch athis home afterwards was delicious  - his wife Juliette is also a superb cook. 
The drive out to Caracol waseasy- 90 minutes of bumpy roads but well worth it. 
We heard howler moneys among man other jungle sounds and literally loved every minute of our stay in this fabulous farm - a place that really is in tune with nature.
WIFI is available if needed. 
NOTE:  payments can be received by paypal.  But the WIFI connection available does not support SMS messages.  I could therefore not receive the access security code for my paypal account which was sent by SMS.  If you plan to pay by paypal, make sure you log in to your account beforehand.
