Stayed here with my children, one of their boyfriend's and his parents. There are only three rooms (sleeps 8) and all have there own bathroom (none ensure). Because we were occupying all the rooms, this was not a problem. The owner could not have been more helpful. The dining area was beautiful and breakfast was lovely, with a wide choice of beautifully baked breads and patties from the bakery downstairs.

We could not have had a better welcome.The lifts and advice were very much appreciated.The rooms are above the Bakery and are modern.They have good facilities and our room was very clean.Comfortable bed and an excellent breakfast .Super bread and pastries together with Nicholas's own eggs.The bathroom was good and well appointed.
We arrived by train and Nicolas was happy to pick us up from the station.Easy bus journey into Ypres.Line 60.Trains every hour.
A lot to see in Poperinge?Talbot House a gem .Real history.Excellent bars and Cafe de La Paix serves excellent food.Break Cafe on the Square does the perfect omelette.Lijssenthoek Cemetery outside the town is so interesting.The site of the Remy Farm military hospital.It is a lovely walk 
back from there along the watercourses.
A few Hommel Beers on the Square adds to it all.

Very helpful proprietor (Nicolas), came out to find us, late at night, when we could not find his B & B.
Lovely rooms and bathrooms, make sure you ask how far the bathrooms are from the bedrooms as not all of them are en-suite.  Breakfast room delightful.  Would recommend and we will be visiting Nicolas again when next in Belgium.  We love Belgium, we find the people so friendly.

Thanks to Nicolas for a great stay. Clean and functional rooms in a converted house above the bakery. Standard for Belgian B&B are steep stairs and bathrooms separate to bedrooms but everything is new and gleaming. Excellent breakfast featuring freshly baked products from the bakery. Very handy to Poperinge town square and train. Host Nicolas very attentive to needs and very helpful-would recommend this as a base for anyone wishing to spend a few days in the Poperinge - Ipre area.

A Little Gem

A really good alternative to Ypres

Lovely not-so-easy-to-find B & B !

I stayed at B&B Het Bakkershuys in Poperinge for one night. Via the booking website I asked for early check-in which was confirmed by the owner. When I arrived first nobody opened. I had to go to the lady in the bakery (in the same building and owned by the same person like the B&B) and she was so friendly and called the owner. After that another friendly lady (an employee) picked me up in front of the house and told me that she does not have any Information about my early check-in. I had to wait 30 minutes before I could go into my room.

The room was modern and clean. There was a small but modern sink in the room. Toilet and bathroom were outside but on the same floor and modern as well. The breakfast was good.

The communication of the owner to his guests (see above) is horrible. There are also many very steep steps you have to take before you are on the floor where the room is.
