Le Petit Somme

If you can ever go to Durbuy once in your life it's lovely! We stayed in this hotel in August on our way back across Europe. Cannot fault the rooms, everything was there that you would need and very comfortable. We arrived late so we didn't see the owner but she accommodated us so we could get to our room easily. We were across the road in a converted top floor apartment and it was very spacious. As a lot of other people have said it was noisy, but very cosy. The breakfast timing system is a little strange, the emphasis on service could be revved up a little. A folder containing information on the surrounding area would help wonders considering this was our first time here and happened to be a bit of mystery to us. It is a lovely area with lots to offer so this could help a lot. It came across as a bit gruff with all the rules and regulations that we did read in the room. Although the owner was completely lovely when we met her at breakfast. Breakfast was a bit limited. Doesn't help that cultural differences put a slightly fawlty towers slant on things from our point of view. Durbuy is so worth a visit. We had a romantic meal outdoors at a candlelit restaurant next to the walls of the castle. The town has a stunning old world charm. The people are little bit grumpy, but it was so lovely in all other aspects that we just didn't care. A lovely stay.
