Durbuy

Room booked was infested with bees. They were in the walls and on both main bed and kids bed. Killed a total of 6 and there were still more. Asked management to correct and was provided with another room at it was too late when we checked in. My sons are allergic to bees so this was a bigger deal. My room rate was not adjusted for the downgrade in room. My sons bed in alternate room did not have sheets or pillows. There were not enough towels for son. Receptionist was rude when asked to correct. Will contact credit card company for partial payment refund

Low quality hotel

We've had a wedding weekend in Durbuy, and the guest house has lived up to our expectations, and the room is charming, comfortable and spacious, and the staff is very kind and helpful, and it's a joy to be on top.

Back in the country

It's a good room, but it's an expensive restaurant, and it's not very good, and the chef is not very nice, and the rest of the staff is not very qualified, and it's a shame at that price, and it's a good lunch, even if the eggs are way too cooked.

Service and quality of the restaurant seriously worth reviewing

The positive aspects of The Guest House are the geographical location, the good quality of the bedding and the size of the room. But if you're looking for a real guest room, go your own way. It's a dependency of the Victoria hotel. Besides, it's a check-in and breakfast place (quite standard). Occupying Room 42, we were disappointed with the soundproofing. We heard a breeze (from the underground kitchens, I suppose) and the occupants of the upper room. We also felt the kitchen cooking breeze as soon as we opened the windows. The screen was quite low. The WiFi never worked properly and we didn't seem to have been informed about this by the receptionist or by the person at the reception.

Disappointed

The positive? A superb frame with a comfortable bed and a superb bathroom. But... a coffee machine without coffee. One cup. Nothing else. Utility? Hair dryer that doesn't work (yes yes we had the lights on). Non-existent Wi-Fi (don't say it's weird like your receptionist when the night before at 7 by Juliette the waitress admits to me that the wifi doesn't work). Very unoriginal lunch, little choice for a price that doesn't justify anything. Noise after midnight (eh yes because it's quiet after 11pm is a simple lie).

What a disappointment at such a price.

It's not a typical room. We think it's more of a guest room than a hotel room. It's a spacious room, consistently decorated in wood and gold, the bedding is correct, the bathroom is huge, there's no bathroom dark enough (to make up for it, there's no shortage of light) the day is loud music, the kitchen is noisy, etc. At night we hear nothing but the boiler.

Atypical

The guest house depends on the Victoria Hotel across the street, where you'll have your (good) breakfast. These are a few atypical rooms, located above the tapas restaurant 7 by Juliette (which I highly recommend). Tastefully decorated rooms, lots of wood, huge bathroom, in short a beautiful decoration that seems to have been Chinese. There's just a lack of electrical sockets in the room. It's old so a little noisy, including the sound of the patio of the 7 by Juliette. The restaurant lowers the music from 23h so you can sleep, but earplugs will be useful for those with delicate sleep. I really liked this atypical. Ideal for a romantic stay.

Romantic accommodation

We loved this hotel for a weekend in love at the Christmas market. It is very well located in the centre of Durbuy. We were in room 43 on the top floor, a beautiful terrace with a view of the castle. The room is divided into 3 rooms, very cozy, interesting decoration, wood, parquet and comfort. A bedroom, a room with a sofa, a TV, a coffee machine and a nice bathroom with a large bathtub and everything necessary to relax (bath salts, body products). We were very warm in the room, which was just after that Christmas market evening. Contrary to other opinions, we had no problem with the sound of the products on the floors, we slept and slept very well, and we had the same nutritious menu for lunch.

Have a great weekend.

It was out of time and cut off from the world that our stay took place. The offer  Evening Escape  is an activity that I highly recommend to you, as a couple of course! One night in a hotel room that is completely out of place, a setting that perfectly combines authenticity and comfort, a 4-course gastronomic dinner and a tasty breakfast all at a relatively affordable price.

The Night to Avoid

For our 6 year olds, in the pictures it's beautiful, but in fact it's an old house they have a way of saying... repainted from the courthouse to the ceiling. The soundproofing is just metrical, and I'm not the type to complain (you my other opinions...) we were awakened by the auctions of our neighbors from above we could have popcorn out! No tables to lay his things, it's a guest room, no lunch planned, finally if paying 15 euros in Victoria. And all that for the 140 euro maudique a night! Other guest rooms are available in less than 5 minutes... Good evening
