Beach Hotel - Auberge des Rois

This hotel is simply a pearl. We stayed here earlier this year, in our first time traveling to De Haan—a town which in itself is absolute gem of the Belgian coast. Located literally on the coast with the beach and sea just a few steps away, this is luxury in the golden and traditional sense—where the people/the staff are exquisite. A toxic trend in the current hotel industry is labelling a hotel 4 or 5 stars based on its amenities and features without putting the same emphasis on the people and management. At this hotel, there is both—superb amenities, including an excellent private sauna (for use upon reservation only) and consummate professionalism and classic hospitality from the staff. There is an excellent restaurant at this hotel—one of the finest in De Haan—which features a choice of live lobster from their in-house tank. The breakfast here is superb. In many ways, this hotel is a travel back in time, to when luxury service was more in the hands of the actual people involved behind the hotel—to be found in this era, at the Beach Hotel. Deeply fortunate to actually be living not far from the Belgian coast, so we can return to this lovely spot at the earliest chance.
