Europa Louiza

We were very happy with the choice of booking here. The location was very good - nice neighbourhood, 3mins to the metro station, 20mins to the railway station (Gare du midi - on the way you can see the Porte de Hal) and around 30mins to the city centre - might be less but we didn't always take the shortest route. There is a "foreign restaurant area" close by, around 5 mins, as you walk towards Louise Avenue, which itself, is a shopping district. There was a night shop very close and a restaurant right next to the hotel entrance. The owner, an elderly person, was very nice when receiving us - he offered us a chocolate bar, a map and suggested where to go; furthermore, on the last day we informed him that we would leave very early in the morning, around 5.00 AM, and that evening we were delightfully surprised that "breakfast" was hanging on our door knob. Wi-Fi was great, no problem. The stairs leading up to the room were pretty narrow and some might have issues when carrying heavy luggage or to those with motor skill problems. In the kitchenette, we found some cold meat in the fridge, jams, butter, cheese and a bag with bread and croissants was given every morning. We also found coffee and tea. The room was cleaned and fresh towels provided everyday. Even tough the room was basic - standard double bed, wardrobe, clean big bathroom - it had a certain authentic vibe that was very pleasant to come back to after a long day of sightseeing. In conclusion, I am more than happy if I'm able to find similar places at such a great price in the future.
