B&B Tripel B

I love staying in B&B’s when abroad and Double Door is exactly the reason why. The B&B is right in the centre of Bruges, next to the fish market, and within a couple of minutes to the canals, plenty of restaurants, shops and Market Square. Although it’s right in the centre, the B&B is down a quiet side street so there was no noise to wake us up at night. I had spoken to the owners, Junko and Pierre, by email beforehand and they were always very friendly and even more so in person. They gave us maps and a guide book on Bruges and told us all the best places to go and where we could get discounts if we mentioned we were staying at Double Door. Our room (up some very steep and narrow stairs so not so great if you have big feet!), was absolutely gorgeous. We had a huge comfy 4 poster bed with netting draped over it and a modern bathroom that all looked like it was out of a plush hotel rather than a little bed and breakfast! Breakfast was downstairs in the quirky main room where croissants, yoghurts, fruit, cereals, rolls, ham, cheese, homemade cakes and juice were laid out on the table and hot drinks were available throughout the day (Junko made a yummy hot chocolate!). Even though we didn’t see much of Pierre as he works on the boats on the canal, we talked to Junko quite a lot and they are both lovely people. The B&B was wonderful for a short relaxing weekend away and I wouldn't even bother looking at anywhere else if I was to return to Bruges. Couldn't have been a more perfect stay :)
