Great stay in a safe, clean and welcoming location. The pool outdoor communal space area was welcoming. Our hostess was friendly and approachable.

A house split into three apartments, with an outdoor pool and barbecue area, the house is fully equipped and provides everything you need for a home away from home.

We booked the smaller of the three apartments yet this still had a large living room and kitchen.  Everything was very clean and in good working order.

Owner Jan is on call for any questions and proved very helpful.  

Location is good, 600m walk from the centre of Speightstown.

Really good apartment 

My husband and I and our two elderly Mums were delighted with the warm welcome Jan and Gary greeted us with. The three bedroom apartment was extremely spacious and beautifully furnished. It was just five minutes walk to the most gorgeous beach and ten minutes to the town. The local supermarkets were happy to run us home with the shopping. The pool was very welcome when we stopped at home for a sunbathe. Jan was the perfect host, she sorted a wheelchair for us when my Mum struggled to walk due to an old injury, she also cooked a most delicious authentic meal for us and made us feel nothing was too much trouble, she just wanted to ensure we had a great time. The high quality air conditioning in the bedrooms was very welcome as was the excellent cleaning service Nancy provided. I am sure we will return.

Amazing

Yet another trip and vacation to the sunny and glorious Caribbean island Barbados.  Also return to Sungold House, St James. Jan and Gary the hosts continue to offer a splendid and ever improving apartment. The fixtures and fittings are without question how you would want them to be in a relaxing and comfortable place to stay. 

We stayed for 3 1/2 weeks on this trip (March-April, Easter incl) and to return to Sungold has always been a home from home for us both.  Jan had also invited us on a catamaran excursion. This being our first time we both enjoyed the experience and completed our first snorkelling swim.  Many thanks Jan for giving us the confidence to get into the warm Caribbean Sea.

The fridge was suitable stocked for us on arrival, which has always been the case when we stay at the apartment. Other rooms and areas of the 'Ginger Lilly' apartment were clean and tidy with the whole apartment being cleaned frequently by Nancy.

Jan and Gary delivered their usual high standards of customer service, and engaged with other families who stayed at the other apartments at Sungold House.  The decent sized pool offers a refreshing 'dip' for all and is maintained everyday by Gary. Kids will love it. (Thumbs Up)

All apartments are suitable for families, couples, singles and guests who may have disabilities be it physical or learning.  

Transfers to and from Grantley Adams airport can be arranged in addition to car hire.

Every trip must come to an end, so it was with a sad heart to leave Sungold House and Barbados, however, we will shortly be booking our return to Sungold House in 2019.

So, when you read this review don't delay and book a stay at Sungold House, and hope that our booking doesn't clash with yours... Sorry!! :-))

Just can't keep away... :-)

This is by far the best guest house I've ever stayed in! Its not just the beautiful layout of the apartment, or the lovely surroundings and neighbourhood, or even the proximity to a wonderful beach. No, the best part is Ms. Skeete. She made sure that we were well catered for from our arrival at the airport to our departure. She made it literally feel like a home away from  home. I believe that I would adopt her as my mum the next time i go there

Can't love this place more

Year after year I've experienced a quality of comfort and tremendous service from Janlyn and Gary.  We were here on this occasion to celebrate a wedding and then stay on for another 3 weeks at Sungold House (Ginger Lilly apartment). This is our home from home property and I can always rely on the apartments cleanliness being at a high level.  As always a welcome pack was awaiting us which made our afternoon arrival so much more gratifying and as we are frequently in Barbados, Sungold House is always our first option.  

The rooms are serviced and cleaned regularly by Nancy and Sherry, who take exceptional care and attention to detail.

Anyone reading this review, I honestly recommend Sungold House for singles, couples and families as the amenities here will please you all including those who may need wheelchair access.  Car hire can also be arranged..

Thumbs up once again, and we shall be booking our return trip in the next couple of months.  Can't wait to get back to the island and Sungold House.
