The team at Nathan’s lodge could not do more for you to make your stay great.
Nothing was too much trouble from extra early breakfast to allow an early fishing day to a variety of packed lunches. Very good value for money and the location is right on a beautiful beach, lovely warm water for swimming etc.

Nathan saved the Cottage for us, which was perfect for our week in the sun. Our own space, a screened porch, basically our own beach, good food, good advice from our hosts, local cultural activities, lots of untainted nature. My husband went bonefishing, we took a great nature tour, we snorkeled on the reef nearby. Glorious.

We really enjoyed our stay here. As other reviews state Freeman is the best. Florene provided  an excellent  meal each evening. The location is amazing with a great white sand beach that is empty most of the time. You have miles of beach to yourself and it provides a feeling of relaxation you simply can't beat. 
We were made to feel at home no matter where we stopped or who we talked to.  We spent lazy days drinking a cold beer, listening to waves and getting a tan. Freeman is around to help with anything you need and give you insights into local culture and the local gossip. We could not have asked for anyone better.
The property is clean and well looked after. It is older and fairly basic but we were happy with everything there. If you are looking for luxury or fancy this isn't that place for you. It really has a  feel of renting an older cottage at the  beach. 
It is a safe, friendly quiet spot to get away from it all.  We hated to leave and will be back.

Diane and Earl, owners of the property, were extremely hospitable. My guests and I were sitting on the beach under the cabana enjoying the sea breeze, very unexpectedly Diane presented us with ice cream....good touch

My family and I traveled to South Andros and stayed at Nathan’s Lodge. This bed and breakfast was exactly what we needed. We were able to spend quality time together, and the beach was absolutely breathtaking. I don’t think I’ve ever seen such beauty before. While photos might have given us a glimpse, being there in person was an entirely different experience.

Our one-year-old son loved spending his days at the beach and the hammock in the backyard. He was thrilled to walk from our room to the restaurant to find his dad. The owner, Nathaniel, was on the property and had engaging conversations with my husband.

The food was delicious, and Florene ensured we were well taken care of. We decided to have all our meals on the property during our stay. Freeman checked us in and looked after us, and the entire team catered to our needs without being overbearing, which was perfect for our retreat from the big city.

We booked a second stay before we even left. We are looking forward to more sandy toes, relaxation, reading, and quality time with our family!

Great trip! Enjoyed the beach there just a short walk in the backyard and I was in beach heaven .
 
All meals we requested were deli’s the chef took special attention to ensure we enjoyed our meal and our stay! The owners were there and spent a lot of time entertaining over meal times with great conversation. 

This was a special stay and my family and I will never forget it 💕

This is our second time at Nathan’s lodge and it won’t be the last one. Everything is great here and it’s the perfect spot to recharge and disconnect from the world. Mr Freeman, Diana, Pablo and everyone here in the island are lovely and kind. We’ll be back!

Family Retreat!

Family experience

Very clean and well maintained - which is hard to maintain in the tropics. The staff - Freeman, Rochelle and Florina were great. I went looking for peace and quiet and certainly found it at Nathans,  it was just what I wanted. Beautiful water and beach. The food is not gourmet but well prepared, in generous quantities and enjoyable, I ate fish, chicken and conch while there. Florina made rice and peas for me which I really appreciated. My only minor gripe was that the beer wasn't cold enough for my tastes. I'll probably visit again, but not in August!

Great place good value nice folks

Nathan's is absolutely the best! Freeman could not have been more helpful. If I needed it, it was there immediately. The lodge is so peaceful and quiet, and on the most beautiful beach on South Andros. Nathan is very kind, and even though he was out of town by necessity, he made sure to call in and check on me. The rooms are absolutely gorgeous! My one bedroom studio was huge. A breakfast nook table and a dining area table, as well as a large lovely kitchen with an island. Just near to my room was a beautiful Cabana on the beach, with a place to hang my hammock and benches to sit on with some tables. The restaurant was delicious. Florina was a wonderful cook! And there were beautiful tables with a lovely view of a garden outside. The Landscaping was really nice, with a lot of trees, and birds singing in the morning. I could not have asked for a better place. 

Once again, as I do in so many of my reviews, I issue a disclaimer. And that is if you want Paradise island, or Stewart's cove, or the Sheraton with marble floors, go somewhere else. This is a locally owned place, with local Bahamian food, and it is gorgeous Those people wanting Stewarts Cove or the Sheraton are wanting something completely different than what Nathan's is. Nathan's is a little bit of heaven!

Also, if you want tours of the island, Barbara Moore is expert in local plants and their uses, maintains the trail at the blue hole, and should really be utilized. There are a couple of all inclusive resorts on the island and some of them seem to want a portion of her fees in order to recommend her. Otherwise they send people out on their own to explore. When you do that you miss all of the information about the native plants, the birds, the history and culture of the island, etc. And if you don't know what Poisonwood and machineel are, you're probably going to be in trouble. Make use of local tour guides!

Wouldn't stay anywhere else

Nathan's lodge is a wonderful place and I would never want to stay anywhere else. I drove around the whole island from Driggs Hill all the way to Mars Bay, and I saw a lot of places. I still would not have wanted to stay anywhere else. It is wonderful,  wonderful, peaceful, happy, and calm. Unlike some visitors to Andros, I do not have a lot of money, but even if I did have a lot of money, I still would never stay anywhere but Nathan's. It was like home to me and I was sad to leave. I had my own kitchen and a lovely view from my little porch. There were lovely Gardens around the property and some forested area. There was a fabulous Cabana where I hung my hammock and just watched the sea. I wanted for nothing. Freeman was fantastic and took care of everything. If I wanted to be able to drink coconut water from a coconut, he brought me four of them! No request was too hard to be filled. It's a wonderful place and the staff is kind and helpful. It was clean and quiet and peaceful and the sea is gorgeous right there. The beach is beautiful. There's a dive shop a 10-minute walk up the beach. I could not have asked for more.

Best place on the island!

We booked lodgings for a little over a week at Nathan’s and we are delighted! The 2-bedroom cottage is comfortable and well furnished.   We can hear the waves from our front porch, and our part if the beach seemed like it was just for us. Very responsive to my emails, answered all of my questions both ahead of my visit and during the first couple of days, with information about shopping and getting around the island. The staff are first class, keeping us well fed and addressing our needs as they arose. The cooking was outstanding! I particularly want to single out Freeman, who checked on us a couple of times and really went out of his way to make sure we got what we needed. We will be back! Highly recommend.

A Great Place to Stay

Nathans Lodge is like our home away from home, this our 5th year in row and hopefully we see them next year. Freeman is always the star of the show as he caters to his customers needs with a big smile. The past couple years Karan has cooked for us, from lobster salad to boil fish and everything in between, well done guys
