Pension Gruber

My husband and I stayed here for 6 nights from 17th August. We had been very badly let down with our first choice of property in Zell am See and were determined not to spend more than one night there. We found this Pension on Booking.com and decided to go and have a look before all it's rooms were sold. Even though it is situated on the opposite side of the lake in Thumersbach, we actually came to prefer this quiet little hamlet to Zell. The property is spotlessly clean and the decor and attention to detail is exceptional. The hosts, Mr and Mrs Gruber were very accommodating and made us feel very welcome. We enjoyed every moment of our stay. Just 2 small negatives. The bathroom containing sink, shower and toilet was very small so would be difficult for a larger person to use, after saying that there was a communal bathroom opposite our room which I'm sure could be used if necessary. Also the village of Thumersbach has little in the way of shops and restaurants and we found ourselves eating at the same restaurant opposite every night but actually that was no problem as the food was very good and the proprietor very friendly and make us feel welcome. Would I stay here again?? In a heartbeat! Just loved it and feel it's very underrated on this site.
