41 reviewsWe have just returned from a 6-day trip to the Alpenland from the UK. The hotel is all that we had hoped for. The rooms were lovely, very well and recently appointed. The hotel is family-owned and run, and the family and the staff were all very friendly, helpful and efficient. Breakfast was very good (including great croissant) and the dinners were excellent: a varied 6 course menu of Austrian cuisine (typically including a meat, a fish and a vegetarian option). All the dishes were faultless, fish and meat were cooked to perfection. The hotel is in a good location - you cross the access road, put on your skis and head down to the first lift. And you ski back to very close to the hotel. Obertauern is only around 75 minutes from Salzburg airport and is quite a high resort.
