Staying by myself in St Anton to meet my friends to ski for a week I chose this hotel based on reviews, location and price. After reading the reviews and staying there they are all right...its a family run hotel that makes you feel at home from the moment you arrive. The breakfasts provided plenty of choice and eggs were freshly prepared how you requested. The single room had a balcony and enough space for gear, the bathroom was very clean. The decor of the hotel is very thoughtful and appropriate to the area with plenty of interest to the halls to stop and look at. Note, as this is an older building there is no lift, so get used to the stairs. It was a quiet hotel with no noise after dark, so sleeping was easy Location could not be better, an 8 minute walk from the train station up a lane onto the main street. The walk to the lift each morning was about 5 mins. Of an evening a stroll up the main street led to a variety of bars, restaurants and shops. There is a tapas restaurant under the front of the hotel that was very popular and reasonably priced. I ate out each night ranging from local cuisine, to pizzas and beer. The price was very reasonable considering room size and location. As with all holidays, there is always a "downer", this happened on my second day when my ski poles were taken from the storage room by another inconsiderate guest that had lost theirs. Surprisingly I found them and the thief at a bar at the end of the day. This was not the fault of the hotel, and they were very helpful offering replacement poles and checking cameras. Note the storage room is well equipped and secure with racks that you can lock your gear to. A pity that there is always someone out there that does not care about anyone but themselves. A warning to all skiers/boaders regardless of where you stay, lock up your gear. It was a very pleasant stay, with the hosts being very accommodating, pleasant and helpful. I have stayed in many ski resorts and hotels across the world and this would be one of my favorites. This hotel suits single travelers, couples and families, however it is a quiet family owned and run hotel, if you want to party, probably best if you look elsewhere.
