Haus Melanie

We spent a week at Haus Melanie with our two children, staying in apartment 5. The apartment was spotless and fully equipped, in a brilliant location for the lake, the train station and supermarkets, in a quiet side street with lovely views. The owners couldn't do enough to make our stay as pleasant as possible and we hope to visit again soon.

we stayed 2 nights and everything was great, we will come again for sure. Our host was very helpfull and showed us what we should see. Room is very nice with nice balkony and in the morning you can hear only birds.. perfect.

      Every morning, weather information Courtesy offered owners.  Carinthian specialties and refreshing drink on arrival. It was a very nice attention Also included in the price is Velden pass

I can't say enough about how amicable & down to earth our hosts, Harold & Wendy, are.  The apartment on the top floor had everything we needed for the 3 adults & 2 kids  (infant & toddler).  Walking towards the city center by the lake was w/in 5 minutes or so & closer to 10 mins to the beach.   We were able to place our stroller on the main floor by the entrance while I was able to store my bike in the basement.  

There's plenty of parking in the lot just below the driveway in case you need it for your car(s).  Once you get onto the highway, about 5 minutes drive, then you can get to the other end of the lake towards Klagenfurt in another 15-20 minutes or so.  Harold provided each of us w/ a tourist type of discount card that got us into the town beach for free.  It also offered discounts to many popular options such as Minimundus, zoo, & the highly recommended view & especially the slide from w/in Pyramidenkogel to name a few.

This is one of the best places I have stayed in Europe. The location is within walking distance for the town, but far enough away to be peaceful. The room was super clean, and the beds were OK. (Sometimes beds in Europe hotels are quite hard.)  Velden is a beautiful lakeside town and is close to many attractions. The host asked us what are interests were, and then provided us with information, suggestions and directions. Loved it!
