Appartementhaus Karantanien am Ossiacher See

On our motorcycle trip to "European Bike Week" stayed here for 5 nights. A large pink(?) building on the south side of the Ossiacher See with great views from our first floor apartment. Made reservation on line of course and apparently didn't read enough about the place-more about that later. After riding from Munich for 5 hours, 50 degrees in the rain on the autobahn we finally made it with the help to the Villach Police - thank you, thank you!!. We were met by the owner and shown our room which turned out to be a very well appointed apartment. A living room w/ TV, Foyer, small kitchen, bedroom and bathroom/shower. Both bedroom and living room had a patio with chairs and table for taking in the beautiful views. About my not reading all about the "hotel" we discovered that there is no restaurant or food/beverage service on premises. So off to the local grocery and stocked up which was fine since the kitchen was fully stocked with all you would need. There is also another building down by the lake with more apartment (I assume) and you can walk down and go for a swim too. the area is wonderful for sightseeing and visiting Castles. All in all we had a very nice stay and would recommend Appartmenthuas Karantanien again to those not wanting all the "bells and whistles" of a fancier hotel and at a reasonable price.
