Location is excellent, on a less busy part of the lake side (south shore) and 300m from the beach. Owner Inez and her mom really made us feel welcome from the first minute. Rooms are very clean and spacious and all quiet, both on the hill- and lake side. Breakfast is excellent and served with care. Great stay in total, definitely worth paying a bit more than elsewhere.

A warm welcome awaits you at this Hotel Garni which offers lovely rooms, well presented and well furnished, some with some super balconies and views. There is a generous breakfast presented on a beautiful open air terrace. Eggs are cooked to order - and believe me the owner can prepare "the perfect boiled egg"! Coffee and tea is also freshly made. The buffet contains a range of the usual breakfast offerings - but all top quality with excellent smoked ham, and plenty of fresh fruit. There is a drinks service at any time. 
Our room was large with windows on two sides, a spacious bathroom, and a large terrace with green views. Not a lot of lake, but with the benefit of being well away from the road; the road is not busy but there is a small hill out of the village so traffic is in low gear. Hence this Hotel is far and away the best location, being distanced from the road and a bit higher up. There is plenty of parking in front.
Reifnitz is not endowed with great eating places - see my review of the lakeside hotel where we were told to leave! And we thought the weakness of the "business plan" here is that although aimed at the luxury market (we paid over €150 a night for two bed and breakfast) you really need to drive to find dinner. That said the owners are very helpful in advising and calling ahead and we did eat in the village at Hotel Rosman one evening and were very impressed (see separate review) - there is also a friendly Conditorei (Fally). 
There are wonderful lunch venues - see also Hotel Höhenwirt in Keutschach am See - so we thought it a shame there were no minibars or fridges in the rooms. This would certainly have presented a relaxing plan - with a good lunch out and hen a light supper - if the breakfast terrace were available then this would also no doubt generate more drinks business for the hotel. 
So, in conclusion - yes it is a lovely place. It seems to be new or refurbished - but I think for real success it needs to rethink its business plan. People will pay these prices in August where everywhere else is full - but the rest of the year probably not. Unless the provision in the village for eating and drinking improves then the Esplanade really needs an evening option even if it does not want to offer a full restaurant service. Support for self catered light suppers would be super - especially as one evening we drove all the way to Klagenfürt for somewhere to eat.

I needed accommodation for the local Ironman Triathlon race in Klagenfurt and my friends had already booked this place so I decided to join them.

I was a great hotel with a fantastic view over the lake where the swim took part and it was situated on the bike route.

I would advise you have or hire a car to transport your bike etc back and forth from the transition area in Klagenfurt.

The staff where very friendly and bent over backwards to feed us at the times we desired and housed our bikes in the secure garage below.

Luxury B & B on the quiet side of the lake

Super clean, spacious rooms, with a nice view (lake side). Easy parking. Conveniently located close to the centre of a small village. Comfortable beds. It would be good to offer some cheese, eggs and vegetables for breakfasts (just jam and sweet pastry). The hotel felt a bit abandoned and lonely in the evenings (outside the weekend).
