Pension Seebichlhof

This family-run guesthouse is situated above the idyllic Kraiger lake a few kilometers from the pretty town of St Veit an der Glan in Carinthia, Austria. There are stables and riding lessons on offer (we had our first lessons and loved it!). Walking in the forest on the hillside, surrounded by horses, after a day’s swimming in the crystal clear waters of the lake (via the private path from the guesthouse) was perfect. An excellent breakfast buffet and traditional 3-course home-cooked dinner ( to order every day) with local beer on tap were delicious. When a storm hit the region and the power went down, the host family team came into their own and made sure their guests wanted for nothing, including candles! ‘Come as a guest, return as a friend’ is their motto - we certainly felt at home in our lovely room and will be back. Incredible value for money!
