Just back from a new year ski trip to Saalbach. We stayed 5 nights at The Schattberg and loved it . Location was absolutely great, in an elevated position overlooking the village and Schattberg Gondola, 5 min enjoyable walk to lots bars & restaurants . The hotel was impeccably clean, with extremely comfortable bed and beddings, I think most rooms had balconies and our overlooked the town. Small restaurant with nice food served until around 8pm I think, breakfast was quite limited but nice enough . Very pleasant waitress, and owner. All lovely and trusting with a small honesty bar and no card details needed etc. Hotel was nice and warm with a really cozy feel to it, lots of nice lighting and rugs etc . Small sauna area which was great ( Austrian / German etiquette !) .We were a group of 8 and all loved it. Would certainly stay again if we returned to Saalbach .
