Having worked in the hotel industry for many years, I would say I am particular about hotels. Although a hotel, it is a typical Austrian Chalet style dwelling. Typical Austrian Alps style, warm, inviting, friendly and efficient in every way. I have nothing but praise for this hotel. The rooms are inviting, immaculate, warm with a sense of 'home'. I stayed in a room with my two sons, plenty of room, a twin with a sofa bed. Attention to detail each day from housekeeping, which delighted one of my sons. They would make his bed and create a mini bed different each day for his little puppy dog - he loved to see. The staff are warm, friendly and completely go out of their way to make you feel welcome. Particular thanks to Bas, Krista and Luke who looked after our every needs in a family fashion. I missed the bus into town one day and Krista took me in her car! Now, that's service. My sons got attached to the waiter, Luke, to the extent that my 6 year old was upset saying goodbye to him when it was time to go home. Food and Service - excellent. A wide choice for breakfast and evening meals and a varied kids menu to choose from each day. Portions are big! Facilities - the hotel has many games in the dining area to keep families amused. The sauna and spa facilities were amazing after a day of hiking! As for the indoor swimming pool, my sons and I enjoyed very much.Many indoor and outdoor areas to relax. Outdoor games also provided for the children and a small play area. Location - excellent and central to explore and hike within the Ramsau area. We enjoyed many days hiking. Lots of activities are planned for the summer by the tourist board and local attractions for families and children. From a beach area and Lake, to numerous childrens' play and exploration areas at the top of mountains, where people would normally ski in the winter. In the summer the ski and cable cars are free. The bus/coach is free so travelling to hiking or ski slopes is free. Attractions are free. You must ask the hotel to organise a 'summer card' for each individual guest in advance so they are all free. An amazing holiday, one to be repeated. HIgly recommended.
