St. Georg

Staying at Landaus St Georg gives you the best of both worlds in Obertauern - A 4* hotel that sets you up for the day with a fantastic breakfast and a ski village with plenty of restaurants for the evening (and if you don't want to dine out, many restaurants will provide take out - hence perhaps the plates, cutlery, fridge in your room at St Georg)! The hotel bar is cosy with a laid back vibe and no more expensive than other bars in the village plus it has a selection of gin that we didn't find anywhere else in Obertauern! It does allow smoking (like all the other bars in Obertauern) but all other areas of the hotel were non-smoking. We didn't use the Spa during our stay so can't comment and we did have an issue with the boot room (someone kept moving our kit and on one occasion had clearly tried boots on before tossing them in a corner) but as the hotel have provided a great space with keycard entry this was clearly more to do with a rogue guest! Unfortunately, we would also recommend locking your kit on the mountain - something we've never even thought about before in Austria - but don't let this minor point put you off this fantastic hotel and resort.
