After trying many hotels and villas in ski resorts throughout Europe for over 30 years, we have finally found Hotel Arabell at Lech in Austria. But the new real secret is the meals included in the tariff. It would be hard to match the breakfast for range of healthy (& decadent) choices. However, the dinners simply can NOT be beaten. six courses starting with a buffet salad that would exceed any health zealot’s fantasy. Imaginative soups and entrees. main meals created with first class meats, poultry and fish. Cheese platters that stand apart but the desserts created by the chef duo are simply outstanding. Crepes prepared before your eyes with the pageantry of a Michelin restaurant, chocolate baskets of lime creme fraisch, Choux pastry swans with magic fillings, handmade raspberry parfaits and so it went on for 12 glorious nights - 12 only - as one has to forage outside the hotel on Tuesday nights to give the inspired kitchen and wait staff a well earned rest.
