Apart Gabriele

Stayed with my son for 4 nights and 3 sunny days of spring skiing. Gabrielle, the host, is very friendly and attentive, helped us with various tips about skiing, parking in town, supermarkets, etc. We stayed at the Kapal apartment, on the first floor (stairs, no elevator). It is spacious, clean, and comfortable, with recently renovated pine tree that gives a great scent as you enter. Furniture and decor is simple and functional, as is common in such apartments in Austria. There is a dining area for 4 at the entrance, a small but fully equipped kitchen and bathroom further in, a room with 2 twin beds next, and finally a living room with a bed-sofa at the end, with an exit to a porch. Overall very comfortable for 2-4 people, with two big closets and a desk. Location is good, though not at the town center. There's a ski-bus stop adjacent, and it takes 6 minutes to town and 3 minutes back. In March, it runs from about 8 to 18:30, every 10 minutes in the morning and afternoon and less frequently in between. There's also a late bus service that is not as frequent and costs a bit. Very convenient and easy. A car is very useful for going to town in the evening or getting some food for breakfast from a supermarket, so we were glad we got to St. Anton with a car and not by train. We prepared our own breakfast, though you can pay for a breakfast buffet (have not tried that). There's a big ski room on the ground floor with lots of room for skis/snowboards and boot warmers. Skiing was very nice, it was warm and sunny when we were there so there was lots of snow but soft and slushy by end of the day. Lech had the best conditions to our taste (advanced but not hardcore) when we were there - you can get there relatively easily by skiing and a short free bus ride from Zurs. Overall, very happy with our stay.
