Pension Inge

I've stayed at Haus Inge once before and looked forward to returning there this ski season. It's a small traditional Austrian hotel which is open during the ski season. The location is good, it's near the small town centre but far enough away not to be affected by the bustle. It's roughly equidistant to the Galzig and Nasserein lifts, latter might be a little easier as it's not uphill. It's walkable from the railstation particularly on arrival as it's downhill. It's harder in the other direction and if the pavement is covered in snow and ice and you have a lot of luggage then a taxi could be tempting. I liked the single room, very spacious, quiet, had a balcony which I think was shared. The shower in the bath was good although tended to make the floor wet. Hair dryers are present under the sink if needed. I would have liked to see a tall heated towel tail to dry things on but I found the bathroom radiator would suffice for drying my gloves. Breakfast was typical for the size of hotel. Scrambled eggs and boiled eggs were the hot options. There's a fruit salad, yoghurts, rolls, croissants and jams. And a toaster with perhaps two types of bread suitable for that. There's a small lounge with a tea, coffee (nespresso machine) water and small slices of cake available all day. The boot room in the basement is very small, has a heated boot rack and oddly had plenty of room when we were there. Free equipment storage at Galzig's Alber Sport is offered with the room and may explain the space. WiFi seemed a bit overloaded at the certain times of the day when you'd expect it to be busy. It was fine for me, that included YouTube streaming on a tablet. Friendly owner, helpful staff and an impeccable standard of cleanliness at the hotel. Thoroughly recommended.
