Berghotel AXX

We went here with a last minute booking for 10 nights. When we arrived the staff was limited. But she was very friendly and helpful. The next day the owner welcomed us. He is a very friendly person. And always trying to help you. Our room was on the second floor. There is no elevator available, so we had to take the stairs with all our luggage. (A bit unpleasant) The room we booked was a family room. This means there is an extra room for 2-3 persons. In our case very handy because we used it as a "packing room". The main room is equipped with a single 2 person bed. The bed sleeps very well. And there is a lot of storing space for clothing. One of the cupboards is equipped with a small safe. (You can set a personal code into the lock). Also there is a shared balcony were you can sit. We missed a small fridge in the the room were you can store stuff to keep cool. The bath room has a nice looking sink. The draw of the sink is a bit fragile. Also there is a bathtub which has to be used to shower. Unfortunately the shower screen is a bit short, so the floor will be a bit wet after taking a shower. The temperature of the water and the amount of water are very nice. The table setting in the restaurant is standard. This means your table is always the same (so they know what you order) During our stay the temperature in the restaurant in the morning is a bit warm, because the sun is shining straight into the restaurant. They try to lower the temperature, but that is a bit difficult, when the sun is shining that hard. The breakfast is very nice. Enough food to choose from. During breakfast you'll be asked to chose your meal for the evening. You can choose a 3 round meal. An appetizer, main course (you can make a selection which one off both you like), and a dessert. Mostly the quality of the meal is very nice. Of course schnitzel with fries is nothing special, but very typical Austrian. And it is on the menu sometimes. When enjoying your meal, there is no rush from the servers. Everything is very relaxed. We booked with a half board. This means drinks were not included. Of course coffee and/or tea are at included with the breakfast. The hotels offers a activity depending on the weather. Most times there is a walk trip. Sometimes a small drive to the activity. They have 2 certified guides for the mountain trips, so you are in good hands. The bar is cozy and offers a variety of drinks. Also there is a small garden where you relax. There is plenty of shades. Overall It is a very friendly and cozy place to stay. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The location of the hotel is nice. The village is focused mainly on the winter season (skiing) but in the summer you can take very nice (mountain) walks. The room is comfortable We had a very pleasant stay!
