Gasperhof

This is a private family run small organic farm in the beautiful Gail Valley of Southern Austria. The farmhouse is perched about 500 feet above the valley floor and has terrific views of the mountains from all rooms. If you're an outdoor enthusiast or looking for a quiet place to get away alone, with significant other, or family, I highly recommend the Zojer family Guesthouse. The rooms are clean and comfortable. We rented an apartment that included two bedrooms, a living/dining room, kitchen, bathroom, and oft-used balcony. We only paid about 44 Euro a night for all of this! This doesn't include breakfast, but you can order fresh baked goods, fresh dairy, and meat products made at the farm or next door. We recommend a rental car to get around, but you might be able to arrange for pickup at the train station (if you don't have kids, it's easier to do). Lots to see around the area all times of year and we did a day trip to Italy. If you only speak English, you should get by fine but you won't find that many English speakers in this part of Austria as most of the tourists come from Germanic speaking countries or Italy. Only downside I found was my bed mattress was too soft, thus I slept on pull out bed in the living room. Also, the WC can get quite fragrant.
