We wished we had stayed longer (we only stayed for 2 nights, but there is lots to do in the area). We took a 2 bed roomed (both ensuite) apartment in the charming Appartements Strobl and couldn't have been more comfortable. It was very well equipped, so we ate in one night. The hosts are delightful - full of helpful advice and they deliver fresh rolls to your apartment each morning. The house is brillantly located with lots of good walks (and cable cars if you don't want to flog up hills) plus a swimming lake close by.
