A wish room on the roof, very quiet here, a very family atmosphere, with three generations, a good breakfast, well-kept hiking poles and shoes, and a good road network, three restaurants within reach.

Nice hospitality.

I am writing this review after spending a week at this Pension Michael.  The location is wonderful and the house is amazing - very clean and spacious rooms with balcony to enjoy the peace of this wonderful village.  The family hosting this house is very kind and helpful and every morning preparing a very delicious breakfast - it's really a home away from home.  It was a very wonderful holiday which I will surely do it again next summer.  Thank you so much dear Family Zwichenbrugger.

Amazing

We visited family run Pension Michael in March 2022. The hotel exceeded our expectations. The rooms are well proportioned, all ensuite and well maintained. Great breakfast and the best ski boot warmers ever. Nothing was too much trouble for our charming hosts Margot and Michael, who helped us in getting the most out of our time in Obergurgl. The hotel is centrally situated, only 3/4 minutes walk from the gondola. I recommend and shall stay there again.

Brilliant Pension Michael. Ski Holiday.

Last minute booking turned out to be brilliant thanks to our excellent hosts, Michael and Margot (and also thanks to perfect weather!).

Their hotel is a small family-run affair in the centre of the village, providing clean, well proportioned rooms, a good breakfast and an efficient boot room. Because of the last minute nature of our booking, we had to move rooms half-way through. This was done with the minimum of fuss, and I can confirm therefore that all of the 3 rooms that we saw wee good. 

A small word about the village - it is small, but full of character. There is limited skiing (Hochgurgl provides more, and Soelden more still, both easily accessed by the frequent bus service between the villages) and limited apres-ski, except of  course for the Nederhutte which provides it like no other, especially now that most restrictions have been lifted. Brilliant! Otherwise, everything that stockysays is completely accurate.

Wonderful Hosts - March 2022

I fancied a last-minute trip to Obergurgl and Pension Michael proved to be an inspired choice.  

It is a very well-run family business. Spotlessly clean and just the job as a quality but non-fancy B&B. 

It is very close to the ski lifts (the short uphill walk is a good warm up for your buttocks), and is in the middle of the best part of the village, very close to the church. A ski shop is across the road. You can buy lift passes at the ski shop too. It was all very easy. Pension Michael has a very good ski and boot room.

If you want something fancy stay at the Edelweiss & Gurgl. If not, stay at Pension Michael (you`ll use Edelweiss & Gurgl`s lounges and apres ski bar anyway).

It was first time to Obergurgl and I enjoyed it very much. It is a village with history and authenticity, in the highest parish in Austria. Snow-sure and 15 minute easy free bus from Solden (you`ll need the variety after a couple of days). 

Don`t forget the free night skiing on Tuesdays.

Perfect choice

Wonderful, very loving and very friendly boarding house in the heart of Obergurgl. We've been coming to Obergurgl for a few years, last time at Margot and Michael's.

Short skiing holiday

No need to search for any other place to stay for hiking in this valley.  Well appointed rooms, comfortable beds, healthy and lots of choice for the included breakfast.  The hosts Michael and Margot know this area inside out and share their love of the region easily.  We felt they were genuinely interested to help us have the best experience possible.  They helped us select suitable hikes, restaurants and arrange transportation and made us feel very welcome.  We will be back!

Super clean and comfortable; hospitable hosts

We have stayed here twice and the family makes us feel us welcome. Rooms are impeccable and comfortable. The location is perfect between the main lifts and the learning area. Breakfast is superb too. They have excellent wellness area on lower level with sauna and steam room.

Great B&B with excellent and very friendly service

I was part of twelve hikers from Canada who very much enjoyed our stay. Rooms are clean, bright and comfortable. Our hosts Michael and Margo went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. They assisted with travel reservations, made dining recommendations, gave us extra space for our group meetings, and adjusted breakfast times to suit our hiking and traveling plans. Michael and his father are the two local guides who provide daily hikes 6 days a week so we had excellent advice for our own trips and regular access to the guided hikes. Go with them!
Breakfasts were ample with fruit, breads, meats, yoghurt, cheese and eggs cooked to order. Margo was very helpful in accommodating the gluten free needs of one of our members. Thanks Margo.
I you are planning to hike in this region, I'd recommend this pension. Having such a great comfortable location, the advice and service of the guides was wonderful for the group. I'd love to come back to this pension with even more friends to share the local beauty and the friendly family atmosphere of Pension Michael
