Gasthof Goldene Traube

I stayed at this hotel for one night on the way from Salzburg to Vienna, and during this short stay, I absolutely fell in love with both the hotel and the town of Golling an der Salzach. The hotel is rather small and simple - nothing posh or fancy about it, and if you're used to comfort and luxury, you may find it wanting. But it has the homely quality most hotels lack hopelessly, and the small rooms are very cosy. I stayed in a room under the roof, and in the morning I had the opportunity to enjoy the amazing view of Golling's streets and the snowy mountains above and around. They say brighter mornings make for brighter days, and the night I spent at this hotel made for a bright morning indeed.
