Gasthof Ramsau

We have been in Gmunden for the famous but very crowded "Toepfermarkt" (Pottery fare), soon left the buzzing of the town behind us and followed a narrow and winding road round lake Traunsee. We stopped at Gasthaus Ramsau and enjoyed lunch sitting in a old fashioned and quiet garden under lovely trees close to the banks of Traunsee. It was nice to see the "Traunsee Fähren" boats landing on the jetty opposite the restaurant. The friendly landlady herself took our orders and we recommend the beautifully prepared fish dishes. My friend enjoyed a fera blue with potatoes and salad, for me it was a trout which I loved, followed by a "Apfelstrudel" with vanilla gravy. The portions are huge and one of them could feed two guests. We loved the oldfashioned charm which reminds of the late 50ties. Well worth a visit.
