Haus Waldrast

We had a great time at Waldrast. The hosts were welcoming and super friendly and did not blink once about us having a baby and a dog with us. The rooms are big, and the triples go out onto a nice terrace. The breakfasts are nothing special, but good enough, not a disaster. The location of the house is also great, it is walkable distance from the centre of Filzmoos (although easier with a car), but also far enough from it that you feel like you're in the countryside. Right out of the door you can walk along a paved road up a hill, or taking a smaller path into the nearby forest. There is also a small slope for kids a 10-minute walk away. We got everything we needed at Haus Waldrast and had a great feeling when we were leaving, because the hosts made us really feel at home throughout our stay. The older couple who live there and run the place don't speak much English, but our German is pretty bad and we were able to communicate together quite well. Their daughter, who probably takes care of the house next door, speaks English, though. Can highly recommend this accomodation if you're looking for a place a bit out of the way, but close to skiing and other fun activities.
