Very comfortable room, an unbelievable breakfast buffet and the absolutely best goulashsuppe I have ever had! Even though the temperature was very warm during our visit, staff did was they could to make us comfortable. A great view of the Bodensee.

Invited a number of business associates during the Outdoor Fair for dinner and was impressed with the food quality and service we experienced. Especially the attention to young guests is tremendous which you can't find at many places elesewhere.

We stayed in this gasthaus in July, and we were thoroughly delighted.  Rooms were small, but clean. This location is just across the Austrian border, near Bregenz.  Lindau is very close, and of course, Lake Constanz (Bodensee). Convenient parking. Bus service is right in front of the gasthaus.  The Seeblick has a lovely breakfast room, with an outstanding breakfast assortment.  One of the best breakfasts we encountered on our travels!   Service was good and friendly to us.  The best part of our stay here was the goulaschsuppe!   Best  goulasch we found ANYWHERE!

Come for the View, Stay for the Goulashsuppe!

Fantastic food experience

Having finished the “Romantic Road” we travelled across the Deutsche Alpenstrasse to Lake Constance and the fifth hotel on our driving tour.  We had opted to stay outside of Lindau as it was the weekend and that was a good move as the traffic was appalling!  The location of Seeblick on the hillside with (just) a view of Lake Constance (with rooftops and pylons) was the main reason for booking, along with our three criteria – free parking, breakfast and wifi -  and the only other saving grace for this place was the excellent (but not cheap) meal we had in the restaurant.  On arrival the restaurant was closed for lunch (until 5) and there isn’t much in the locality but the meal was worth waiting for.  The room was a good size but sparsely furnished with a small table and chairs squeezed into the space opposite the “bathroom” with bottles of water provided.  There was no clock, phone, pen, pad, or tea making and throughout the building there are silly little 1” steps to trip you up and the balcony was shared with the next room.  The view was good but the downside of that was the traffic noise from the road.  There is ample free parking at the front and back of the hotel but due to the steps everywhere it would not be a good hotel for anyone with more than a slight walking disability.    The hot water took AGES to come through – so long we went and asked if it had been turned off!  The shower was absolutely uncontrollable!  Kept going hot and cold and falling off the wall – nightmare!   The towels were small and hard – we have thrown out better.  “Bathroom” had a sliding door to save space (!) and measured 101 x122cm (not including shower) so when on the loo your knees are under the basin – the wardrobe was almost as big.  Have had bigger on a cross channel ferry!  We had NONE of the alleged free wifi ALL weekend as there was something wrong with their network connection but they were very unhelpful and kept shrugging and blaming our laptop (and iPod) which works everywhere else in the world!  Apparently many of their “foreign” guests get this problem and it is down to “foreign” equipment! Wifi was one of the criteria for booking this hotel.  The breakfast buffet was an excellent spread with a good choice of hot and cold options, eggs, meats, cheese, fresh fruit, breads and cereals.  For a great day out from Horbranz it is an easy drive to the lovely walled town of Meersburg where a boat will get you across the lake to Konstanz in half an hour.  Lunch on the terrace of the Konzil Gaststatten right at the water’s edge is highly recommended!

Only saving grace is the restaurant food

We were greeted by a young blonde girl with the charm of a rusty nail. Which could be said about the hotel in total. The rooms and the interiors date from the 50s, the socalled bath room is an architectural anomaly at best, if you admire the feat of packing a shower, a sink and a loo in so little space. If you do not admire it than you will see it as an intolerable cheek towards unsespecting people who booked a room with a bathroom.
Which says a lot about how miserably the reviewing folks here reside at home when they liked the rooms here.
Every youth hostel built the last 20 years or so is comfy and luxurious compared to what you get here. The "free" wifi did not reach our room at the end of the corridor and was extremely slow in the breakfast room.
The whole thing is a scam, the shabbiest hotel we've stayed in the last 50 years. 
So, stay AWAY!
Just awfull.
