Landgasthof Hotel Muhr

We stayed during a warm spell in October 2018 at the end of a long weekend in Vienna / Bratislava. Geographically, this Hotel is on the way back from Bratislava. If you take a day trip to that city from Vienna, the “Flixbus” (An experience in itself) brings you back via the airport for under 10 euro each, then a taxi to the Hotel and back to the airport was 35 euro each way. The food at this Hotel is superb and we felt really welcomed as the host explained each dish in perfect English. Minibar prices were the cheapest we’ve ever seen, and all the bottles were chilled to perfection. I wish we had used it.. also that I had remembered to take my half used bottle of iced tea, out of it.. The room facilities (Rm. 204) were excellent, we enjoyed an outside balcony with chair and table, big wardrobe, separate WC, twin basins and a large walk in shower - but if there was a kettle with tea and coffee in there, we didn’t find it.  Breakfast in a sunny conservatory area was also excellent and the drive to the airport took only 15 minutes. We were sitting on the flight, less than an hour after leaving the Hotel.  Another rather charming aspect of this provincial Hotel is that you can chat to local farmers and townsfolk who pop in for coffee or beer at their small bar, too. It is a friendly and well run Hotel, and an integral part of a quiet Austrian town. Thankyou mein host, for a warm welcome, great service and a good sleep.
