Schloß Thannegg-Moosheim

We choose this hotel to experience something different, it definitely delivers. On arrival you drive through high gated gardens and driveway, sweeping to the front of this idyllic turreted castle. Ernst, the host, showed us to our room. You have to meet Ernst, what a character. The marble stairs climb to each floor, every turn could be a staged scene from a movie. Paintings, portraits, sculptures, antiques and quercky memorabilia hug and nestled in alcoves and corridors. Our room is on two levels, compact with smaller windows but plenty of them. Each with a landscape view of its own. Functional, modern appliances in a wooden kitchen. Bench seating with a table and two chairs. Shower in bath, did take 5mins to feed the hot water to us, but we were at the top of the castle. Low beams in bedrooms, learnt quickly to lower head ! The beds are wonderful, immaculate, crisp white linen and very comfortable. We have stayed in many hotels and forget the experience quickly. We will treasure our memories of Schloss Thannegg. Thankyou
