Hotel & Spa Sonne

We originally planned to stay here only one night. We had a standard room, it was clean and comfortable enough. We didn’t mind the older decor, especially the shower stall because it functioned well and we spent most time outside. We really appreciated the modern facilities- the spa, the pool and decks on the lake. The sauna on the lake was really cool. The connection between the indoors and outdoors was what made us extend our stay for another two nights. The food was another selling point. Excellent variety for breakfast and superb fish dishes in the evening along with an abundant salad buffet and outstanding desserts, not the usual run of the mill stuff. Ability to use paddle boards and other equipment for water sports was great too. One thing that was not to our liking was the fact that there were ashtrays on the terrace and on the balconies which encouraged the smokers to smoke freely everywhere even if there is a non smoking policy in the rooms. A separate area for smokers would be more in compliance with the current laws and health recommendations. To conclude it needs to be mentioned that we were there out of season and there were not many people, so the facilities didn’t get crowded.
