Walter's Gästehaus

What a great find, unfortunately only staying for one night whilst passing through on a 5 week touring holiday but would definitely seek this place out again in the future. Run by a family and now on the 3rd generation, this place seams to be apartments rather than a typical hotel but they were happy to take a booking for one night. There is no elevator and we stayed in a lovely apartment room on the top floor (to be fair it could be accessed on a higher level but hubby and I figured we definitely needed the exercise. We had asked for a high floor as there is no air conditioning and we like to sleep with the window open, so all our wishes were met. Fridge in the dining room. Ample and private parking around the hotel. The greeting by Walter was so very welcoming, like you had bumped into a long lost friend. He spoke wonderful English and was so friendly, spending time to chat with us. If on,y staying one night, make sure you get here for 5pm when the bar opens and you can enjoy a drink on the patio with the most gorgeous view of the mountains. Everything is perfectly looked after and as clean as a pin. Do not miss out on the meal. Although the menu was limited he had a fish and entrecôte special which were to die for. Simple food, Locally sourced and cooked to perfection, absolutely wonderful. Breakfast was also very good and worth every penny. Can.
