Pension Elisabeth

The Pension Elisabeth is a chocolate-box pretty gasthaus with beautiful grounds, leading down to a crystal clear trout stream with views of snow topped mountains. The room was compact but spacious enough, and it was spotlessly clean. There was a good wifi connection, but the TV choice was limited, as is usual. Having a balcony in our ground floor room was a bonus too. The owner is friendly and helpful, and speaks reasonable English. He operates a help yourself bar on an honesty principal - a good choice of cold drinks and very reasonably priced as well. There is adequate parking at the front of the property. There isn't much to do in the immediate vicinity, though Seeboden town has a smallish number of shops and restaurants about 1 kilometre distant. We chose to drive back into Spittal an der Drau some 4 kilometres away for a better choice. The breakfast room was extremely pleasant, and the quality of the room decor was remarkable. Breakfast itself matched the surroundings and couldn't be faulted. We were only at the Elisabeth for one night but were very pleased with it. One point to note is that credit cards are not accepted, but the charge for b&b for the two of us was only 72 Euros (£60, $90).
