Guthega Inn

Guthega Inn is a fun place for activities. Lots to do here and very peaceful. The accommodations are really nice. The rooms are excellent. This is an annual ritual coming here (actually even more frequent). The food here is good too. Would highly recommend.

Wonderful inn in a beautiful environment. The natural setting is amazing. The stay was very comfortable. The rooms were amazing. Very clean and had all the necessities. The staff was amazing as well. Lots to do in the area. Would highly recommend.

Nice boutique hotel for a quick getaway. The area is an awesome place for hiking in the summer. The onsite restaurant and bar is really good. The tomahawk steak was cooked to perfection. Also enjoyed the filet mignon, prawn and mussels, and stuffed field mushrooms. The beer selection was good too.

Super friendly and helpful manager and staff who went the extra mile to make our stay a great experience. Comfortable and clean rooms. Great view and a well stocked bar. Ski in and out location. Delicious menu, filling and tasty breakfast. A bit hard to get to if you don’t have private car so factor that in. 

Extremely wet and bedraggled after a morning of summer hiking over the mountain, we arrived at the Inn to be warmly greeted by one of the owners, Nick, and our wet gear unceremoniously whisked away to the drying room.  We were of course looking forward to a warm shower and weren't disappointed in that or the lovely bright, sunny and simple room.

Room has a good bed, fluffy doona, good linen and plenty of room to store your gear. A small bar fridge is a great add. Bathroom is small but adequate.The drying room takes care of your boots and whatever else is wet.

Beer is on tap in the dining room, a decent wine selection and we had really good quality vegetarian fare...often hard to get in the mountain. I mean, I love hot chips like the rest of humanity but let me assure you active veggos need more nourishment than that. We were treated to Indian inspired food and some hearty desserts all freshly  made. Breakfast is a la carte and featured the best homemade baked beans I think I've ever had.

Although most of the reviews here are speaking about visits during the winter months, this area is stunning to hike in summer, and right now the Snowy's are an explosion of wildflowers, so well worth a visit. We normally free camp at night but it was so wet that having the Inn as a base was perfect.

We will be back. Big thanks to  owners Jenny and Nick for their care and hospitality.

We stayed for the second time with some friends and again we have nothing but positive things to say. All staff are wonderful and go above and beyond to make your stay memorable. The food is delicious and wonderfully presented, and another reason we will keep returning. 
We stayed in the Mountain View room and it was beautiful and has been recently renovated. Can’t wait to stay again next year!

Had the most amazing time at the Guthega Inn. We spent 3 nights and experienced wonderful hospitality from inn keepers Nick and Jenny and their team of staff. The food was scrumptious and we looked forward to the menu every evening. From the time Nick met us at the car park to ferry us to the Inn to dropping us back 4 days later, we had the best time in snowy wonderland. Our car was snowed in and Nick helped us shovel and push the car out. Thank you for such a wonderful visit. 

Our first time staying in Guthega and it has been amazing.
Unfortunately I torn my ACL the first day of our trip so that meant no skiing and lodge bound.
Jenny and Nick were so accommodating to us! 
We were picked up earlier than expected due to the injury and our room was also ready earlier than expected.
We were given a large family room with an amazing view of the mountains. This was a bonus as I'm happy to sit and stare at the mountains all day.
The room was warm and welcoming. Clean and tidy. There is a wall heater which is adjustable and there is central heating.
Plenty of lights around the room and bathroom.
Microwave and kettle for convenience. Wine glasses and mugs. Drying wardrobe for jackets/pants as the ski/boots area is in the reception area.
No tv in room however there is a library and tv room with many DVDs to choose from. 
We brought our laptop and had access to 3G internet (Telstra). There is no WiFi here.
Bathroom is tiny but functional, great shower pressure but a fight for temperature with the other guests. Amenities (shampoo/conditioner/tea/coffee and milk) included, towels and blankets. Communal balcony for the family rooms.
The bed was a king, two king singles push together. Not terrible and had a good night sleep. Walls are thin and noises are bound to happen.
Daily housekeeping included, they don't give you fresh towels but thats to be expected living on a remote mountain.
Breakfast and dinner included, amazing spread. The homemade beans are tasty. The dinners were brilliant with lots of local finds. I tried trout for the first time and it was yummy.
Extensive list of wines and great mulled wine and hot apple cider. 
Nick and Jenny are spectacular hosts. The hospitality and customer service was beyond anything we've experienced. Nothing was too difficult for the staff to help with. 
We will absolutely be back, and for much longer than 2 nights.

I have stayed at this fabulous on snow venue now 5 times and never has let me down.
The owners Nick and Jenny are wonderful accommodating people and know how to run this lodge.
Rooms are spacious and most have beautiful snow mountain views that enjoy wonderful sunsets of an evening.
Great bar with extensive wine list, tap local beers, wholesome breakies and sumptuous 3 course meals all helps to top off a wonderful ski experience.
You can not always guarantee mother nature delivers the snow but you can be guaranteed of a wonderful experience at Guthega Inn.👍👍👍

Annual Ski Trip

We stayed at the Guthega Inn from Saturday til Friday and wish we never left! Our room (Room 1) was spacious and had a beautiful view. Much roomier than other places we’ve stayed in the mountains. The room was clean, warm and inviting. It also has a bar fridge, microwave and tea/coffee facilities but we didn’t use them because the breakfasts were generous and the three-course dinners were gourmet. I would book direct, as dinner is then included.
The inn has a great atmosphere at night time. Usually once the kids finished dinner they went off to play games with other children while adults socialised and enjoyed the rest of dinner. There is a tv room as well, which was useful when the kids wanted to chill out a bit. Lots of books too. All the staff were friendly and helpful. The owners really cared for us and gave us some much needed advice re what not to do in the blizzard! When we didn’t head to Perisher, we used the Inn’s toboggans. We really loved this place.

Lovely 6-night family stay

Just back from our 3 night ski stay at the Guthega Inn. We were very warmly welcomed by Nick and Jenny the owners. Nick even met us at the bottom of the hill with his snow cat to help us with all our luggage after a big dump of snow. 

The accommodation was spotlessly clean and well arranged and I could not fault a thing. Our group also had two more rooms and both were in the same clean tidy and spotless condition. All rooms were comfortable, in good condition and had everything you could need on your stay including a fridge and microwave. There was plenty of hanging space for all the gear we had with us. 

The Restaurant and Bar is open to the public for lunch but is then for house guests only in the evenings. This gives it a great 'old school' ski lodge feel. There are some great German Beers on tap and the wine list is extensive. Good for a post ski debrief in front of the fire. 

Where we were impressed was with the food. Every single meal we had was delicious and well thought through. This is true restaurant food every night and we felt completely spoilt. All of the team were friendly and helpful and I don't think I had to get up to go to the bar once. Thanks to Annabelle for being so nice to our kids and even coming up to say hi to us when we were skiing at Perisher. 

Whilst not cheap, our expectations were well exceeded in all areas. 

I note in some reviews about the owners and attitude, but be clear, this is not a 5 star hotel. This is a very friendly, warm and welcoming Inn. It's accommodation and services reflect that charm of an Alpine ski lodge. 

Strongly recommended and we will be back.

Great Stay - Old School service and experience

I had read the review and was a bit apprehensive staying by myself for 3 days at the end of August.  Nick was the perfect host and I left feeling regenerated and at peace.  He picked me up from the overnight carpark promptly after I had spent the day skiing, moved my car to get it out of the mud, rescued an echidna on the way back and constantly checked to see that all was well.  The Inn felt like being in someones lounge.  Warm, unhassled and the perfect end to the days skiing.  The dinner was outstanding and the room was comfortable with a stunning view.  I will definitely be back, hopefully with some of the family and am only sorry they do not open in summer.

Warm, homely, very relaxing

I have stayed up at Perisher a few times and had been to Guthega Inn before for lunch but never overnight.  Snap decision based on favourable weather conditions meant a sudden search for accomodation for 2 nights - I picked the Guthega Hotel and was glad I did.  Owners (Nick and Jenny) were wonderful hosts and the room was clean and spacious for on snow accomodation.     Had dinner the two nights and the food was excellent and fairly priced for the Perisher region - do not expect any bargains when staying on snow.   The staff were fantastic in bar/ restaurant - very polite and accommodating.     Thoroughly enjoyed my short stay and will be back.
