Our site was nearer the front of the park as it was in Sprintcar Classic week. There were trees for shade and the amenities were not far away. The dump point was equally accessible. It was comfortable on the ground and a bit too far walk to the beach , I didn’t attempt that walk though. Book early as it’s not easy to get in over Xmas holiday period time . It’s already booked out for Xmas 2023

It’s a friendly park and they are also pet friendly so it’s very good

This trip, (Nov 2022), admin staff were friendly and helpful. Camp kitchen has deteriorated, what once was a fully equipped kitchen, now only has the appliances but no crockery or cutlery as in the past. They do need clear instructions on how to used their stovetops, I saw several tourists struggle with this. They finally have a solo traveler rate which more parks need to do, but still no deals e.g. stay 4 pay 3 in non busy times.  The coded access to the bathrooms needs the large printed version of the keys, which was on the door last visit. One bathroom block was completely closed, and when the main block was being cleaned, between 9am-11am, the only other open block is about 300 metres away, and also closed from 9-9-30am. Effectively, between 9 and 9-30am, there is no access to a toilet! The grounds in this park are well maintained. Even though this park has good access to most things, it is rapidly losing its appeal, as there is another park with equally close access to the same things.

Large park, which over the years is getting expensive to the point where they are not even  bothering to be competitive with other caravan parks in the area. Amenities are spacious and always clean, and camp kitchen is great, Do not trust stuff to be in the fridge if you return to it later. Very close to the beach.

Ideal for many reasons 

We booked to stay one night, but ended up staying for four! Even despite the restrictions enforced due to COVID-19, the Surfside Holiday Park was worth the stay. We had a motorhome, so very independent, and less chance of contracting or spreading a virus (of any kind!). A number of its facilities were closed/partially closed, however, the location is what makes it ideal given its proximity to the beach, bike/walking pathways, parks (for adults and children), and a short distance to the main town/restaurants.  The staff were not very talkative but very helpful. The only thing we did not like were the number of "chatty" dogs - but mostly friendly. Overall great spot and recommend to take bikes - there is a lot to see/do.

Worth the Stay & Stayed Longer

Stayed here in a tentsite for one night in the winter. The site was secluded and quiet, with a great view of the museum on the hill and a short walk to the ocean. This was a perfect base for exploring the town. While facilities were modest, I found them sufficient for a short trip and enjoyed having friendly families and dogs around to keep me company. Staff were also helpful during check-in and helped me find a place to get my phone repaired when it kicked the bucket overnight!

Clean and tidy  caravan  park with friendly staff  great location adjacent to the beach and easy walking distance to town and attractions like the Maritime village and whilst located next to rail line it did not intrude on the park  lovely walking path along the beach to breakwater or mouth of the Hopkins river throughly enjoyed our stay here

Week away

We love this park. Pet friendly but not at Christmas school vacation times. close to the city and there are pet friendly eateries close by. Beautiful walking tracks from the park to the breakwater and back 

Surfside in Warrnambool

The cabins are clean although old and patched up with obvious repairs and require an update for the price paid. The noise from the main road and train is horrendous. The path leading onto beach is lovely and lots of friendly campers. There is a rat problem which is concerning.  1/5
