Everything you need, fully equipped, fireplace,barbecue, fan, lovely  sheets, and towels,  all the kitchen things you need. Totally updated.  Bring your own food, no stores nearby, but the office did have some "emergency" food and wine for sale. And the resident dog Shadow was so sweet.

This is our second stay here, and we love it. Lovely, clean, well-equipped cabin. The kids love the spa bath, and the fireplace (it gets cold up in the mountains, even in the middle of summer if you're not used to single-digit temperatures). Comfortable beds and amazing views of the surrounding nature. It is very secluded, so book knowing there is almost no mobile coverage, wi-fi, shops / petrol stations. It was the perfect, mountain getaway where we switched off from the world and enjoyed the serenity. Don't go if you expect main-city perks - it's very remote. That's the joy of this place!

The two negative reviews from 2023 were embarrassing to read and show why it is important to research your holiday before you leave. Any road map will show you that Bronte Park is a very small and isolated village in the centre of Tasmania. One can’t expect to “Get away from it all” and have all of the city amenities too.
Gloria was very welcoming and our “cabin” accommodation turned out to be a fully equipped and spacious two bedroomed house, complete with a fully functioning kitchen, laundry and carport. Ok, the windows could do with a clean and there were some wear and tear marks on the walls and carpet, but everything else was very clean with crisp linen on the beds. Despite the distant gunshots that we heard on arrival, it was very peaceful and the stars were so clear at night. My fussy children wanted to stay for a few more days.

We knew what to expect. A reasonably well appointed self-catering cabin in a fairly remote area and that's what we got. In fact the cabin exceeded expectations. The wood burner was ready to light and the heater had been turned on before we arrived. 
The bed was comfy and the large spa bath appreciated, although a little difficult to get out of for the less mobile.
The kitchen was well equipped and we enjoyed the port.
Nothing to complain about. 
Good for a one night stop en route from Hobart to Strahan. If you want to pick up food then there's a large Woolworths supermarket in New Norfolk.

The studio cabin I had was lovely. However I arrived in what felt like a force 10 gale in June and as I arrived the electricity across the whole of the small village and the surrounding region went out. But there was a car port next to the cabin so my car felt quite protected from the elements and although I was cold inside the cabin as both heaters were electric, again I felt safe from the howling gale outside. Sadly the lack of electricity also meant there was no wifi and the telephone reception in this area is very poor. 

The lack of electricity was a general problem in the area (although from the guest book and reviews, a frequent problem) and not specifically the fault of the owners. Although if it is such a frequent problem then maybe removing the wood stove mentioned in the guide to the cabin wasn’t such a great idea, or they could provide paraffin heaters. They do however provide a small gas stove and kettle but you cannot use these inside the cabin and I did not want to risk it in the force 10 gale outside. They also provide candles and matches and the manager/owner bought a lamp to my cabin that had been charged. 

The cabin itself was well equipped with two heaters, a fan, electric blanket, microwave, hob and grill as well as kettle, toaster and coffee maker. There was an iron and ironing board in the wardrobe and a TV and DVD player. Sadly none of these worked because of the power cut in the evening but I made good use of the kettle the following morning - the electricity came back on at about 10 pm but I was shivering in bed by then. However the cabin soon heated up and by midnight I was roasting! The kitchen was very well equipped for anyone planning on staying longer than a night or two. 

The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom appeared clean and newly decorated. There were extra blankets which were much needed. And the shower in the morning was hot and strong. All in all apart from the electrical issue this is a lovely place to stay for anyone travelling through this part of Tasmania. I was returning from Strahan to Hobart and didn’t want to do the full drive so broke my journey here. I had hoped to visit the nearby Wall but it was closed for all of the winter which is a real shame.

We arrived after a long drive to the lovely, very informative Gloria. Nothing is too much trouble. We knew we arrived way too early for the 2pm check in but as our room was ready we were happily checked in. Gloria told us that there was going to be a scheduled power outage the next day starting at 8.30 am so no power/hot water/shower after then.
So we both had lovely long hot showers before getting into the most comfortable king sized bed and having the best sleep on our whole trip around Tassie. So peaceful and quiet and the stars were amazing, Looking up at the sky at 2am on our private deck, wrapped in a blanket was memorable.

Great overnight stay in Studio 8.Very clean and comfortable Cabin.Wished we could have stayed longer!Appreciated the small Carafe of Port on a cool night 😃

Exceeded expectations. Wasn't expecting something this good in an out of the way place. Spacious, modern, clean, every minute detail catered for. Gloria was a great host. She had recommended bringing food to cook, we did, worked out great. If we're ever passing through again, we'll be sure to stay there. Highly recommended. 

Knocked our socks off!

We were a bit concerned about this booking due to its relative isolation but we were very pleasantly surprised. While the outside of the cabins look a little tired the inside of our cabin had been completely re decorated. Lovely bathroom and kitchen and a really comfortable bed. Our welcome couldn't have been warmer and we had a lovely surprise when we were given the opportunity to see some wombats up close and personal !. Lots of little extras including a small bottle of port and free use of laundry facilities. The wifi was good as well !!Very happy.

Pleasant surprise

Very comfortable cabins that had everything we needed. We had our own bread, milk, butter, condiments for breakfast and Gloria told us where we could drive to for dinner (dinner was lovely). We received complimentary Port from Gloria. Gloria had some food and wine supplies to tide us over which we also purchased. Amazingly quiet and comfortable with the beautiful sounds of nature. Best sleep we’ve had so far.

Loved our visit such a warm and welcoming stay. If you are looking for 5 Star  accommodation Highland Cabins and Cottages are not for you! If you are looking for somewhere, super clean and comfortable in Central Highlands of Tasmania this is the place to book! We loved our one bedroom cabin with log fire and spa in bathroom. The kitchen had everything you could possibly need to cook with (bring your own groceries as no shops near by) the kitchen did have tea and coffee ready to be used, the fireplace was stacked ready for us to light on arrival. The washing machine in bathroom came in handy (is also a dryer in building just behind the office however we didn’t need it) airer near washing machine came in handy would hang out washing in lounge and it would then be dry thanks to warmth in house by fire the next morning. Fire kept the cabin toasty warm even with negative temps outdoors overnight.

Cozy and Comfortable Central Highlands

This was a real surprise. We checked into the cabin which had 2 large bedrooms and a fire place which was already  stacked and made the cabin super warm. The kitchen was slightly older but clean and had all appliances. The town has a poorly stocked general store so buy food before travelling to the area. This accom was superb. And the host arranged for a local wildlife rescuer to bring baby wombats to see and pat which we loved
