We had a powered site. Plenty of room for the van, awning & car. Every bay was separated by a small hedge. We stayed for two weeks, venture south and are back again. The staff are very obliging & friendly. It is so conveniently located on the outskirts of the city. You feel like you’re in the  country with only a short drive to the big smoke of Hobart. We will definitely be back & can highly recommend this park. Oh! Love  the resident bandicoot, rabbits and strange bush chooks. I personally would call them roadrunners. They run everywhere and make the strangest sound. All making it a special place to stay.

We stayed in a tent on a powered site, staff were very helpful in locating us in an appropriate site. The park is conveniently located between Hobart and Richmond and is an ideal base to see things in Hobart and Southern Tasmania. The amenities are good and include camp kitchen and laundry facilities. Would definitely return

Absolutely awesome caravan park.. amenities clean and serviceable, but little dated if anything.. powered site best we have had with lovely hedges for extra privacy.. mini golf brilliant bonus.. best Thai restaurant been to in a long time.. easy to get to Hobart and beautiful surrounding towns.. absolutely 💯 recommend and we will be back..

We had a wonderful two night stay at Barilla on a powered site. Site was clean and private, the privacy hedge was lovely and the fake grass matting was nice to step out on.  
Facilities were all clean and mode. I really appreciated the ‘tank’ style bathroom amenities as it’s a singular use space which is more comfortable for me to send my young boys in without needing to use the Mens room. 
Staff were all friendly and accommodating, in fact quite generous with their service. 
The putt putt is well kept and very enjoyable. The spa pool is also a nice touch. 
Only good things to say about this park, would definitely stay again.

Great little park big sites with privacy hedges. The restaurant was not open when we visited but Luma one of the local restaurants deliver to the park ( the prawn and lemon tagliatelle was fabulous )   They have a putt putt course on site too !!! And a heated pool.  The showers were clean and ran on a timer so even when it is busy there would be no hassle with waiting or running out of hot water.

The park is excellent beautiful flowers wild animals wandering around and the staff friendly and helpful, it is very clean, there is a little restaurant and easy to visit places close by it is very peaceful and we will be going back

Stayed in a cabin and the lovely ladies at reception went out of the way to help customers. The park owner was also helpful. Clean facilities. Standard cabin was plenty enough for a simple travelling couple

Recently stayed at the above, as it was close to the return location for the Cruisin motor home in which we travelled. Had a delightful time there. Sites a little close together, but the place was clean, tidy and the hosts and people friendly. The location was great, as it enabled us to visit beautiful places within a relatively short drive. Saw "Frogmore" where (Mary met Fred') went on to Coal River Farm restaurant for a beautiful lunch, and then onto historic towns of Richmond and Ross. We chose to stay in one of the very well appointed and spacious cabins on our last night, as we had to spend a considerable amount of time packing up and cleaning the van before taking off early for the return flight. The bed was so comfortable and everything was spotless.  (we stayed three nights here) The 'icing on the cake' was dinner at 'Nate's Restaurant'. All I can say is WOW, WOW, WOW. Nate came out to ask how we wanted our steaks and he 'creates, the most delicious Port and Rosemary 'sauce'.  Nate's culinary skills could have him in any five star restaurant in the world. We enjoy travelling, and this is the first time, we have chosen to do the 'grey nomad thing', staying at holiday parks other than grand hotels etc. Nate could certainly share his skills anywhere he chose. We decided to have dinner there also on our last night, but sadly, Nate was not on and the other chef didn't make 'the sauce' but the meal was still delicious. We were surprised, that a holiday park had such an amazing restaurant. The park caters for all age groups with a mini golf course. indoor kitchen, heated pool, BBQ's and children's playground. On our second night there, we chose to buy a pizza from Nate's pizza and Grill which was made fresh while I waited with all ingredients chosen by me. It was a delicious way to relax in our cabin contemplating all the wonderful things we had seen and all the beautiful friendly people we had met in Tassie. Highly recommend this place if you are travelling in the area.

Providing all amenities the Barilla Holiday Park is a very good park. The site includes mini golf, a restuarant, spa and pizza shop. Easy access and clean and a 15 minute drive to Hobart. Highly recommended.

We live in Tassie so we had the opportunity to come and look at the park before we stayed here on our holidays.  We looked at all of the parks in the Hobart vicinity and this was, in our opinion, the only one that felt (and looked) like it was a holiday park rather than a “line em up and cram in as many as possible” set up.  Initially, we booked for 4 nights but have ended up increasing it to 8.  
We read some of the earlier reviews on Trip Advisor once we got here (after the horse has bolted type of thing!) and was actually really surprised when reading some of the lesser reviews.  We have stayed in some really wretched places but this is not one of them.  Perhaps the park has been updated a lot since some of those reviews, but we have not had a problem with it at all.   We loved the idea of the showers being contained in the water tanks (or whatever they are).  It’s a bit quirky from the outside and the inside is huge.  Sure, you’re not at the Hilton, but then, it’s not the price of the Hilton either.  These showers are great for families because there is so much room and you don’t have to worry about other people.  The showers are on a timer (6 or 7 minutes or so) which is plenty.  If you need longer than that, I reckon you’re just wasting water, anyway.  There is a sign encouraging you to contact management if this is insufficient so I would imagine if you had little kids, you could work out something for he shower to be longer.  The other amenities block is your typical shower/toilet but really, really clean.  They ask that you mop the floor after you shower and that’s not a big deal.  Camp kitchen is small but clean, tidy, offers all that you need including a coffee machine.  $2 a cup is cheap and it’s real beans, not instant.
Our site (for a caravan) was lovely and private due to the hedge and close enough to all the amenities as we had chosen this particular site when we first looked at the park.  The park itself is not gigantic so there’s no hike to any of the facilities as far as I can see.
We have absolutely no hesitation in recommending here.  The staff couldn’t be more helpful and friendly.  We’re lucky in that we live in Tassie so we can come back here often, which we will.

A very appealing park

Great caravan park

We stayed in a medium sized  motorhome in the campground section for 2 nights. It is not a new park but is well maintained and quiet with clean facilities. Time has allowed the growth of some large trees and thick hedges on 3 sides of each powered site which create ambience & privacy. We were grateful for the efforts of Jodie who ensured we got a site despite huge demand. It was this caring attitude that made staying at Barilla a really great choice.

Great Holiday Park!

Stayed 2 nights in a motorhome on a powered site. The park had everything we needed, toilets/showers pretty good, I liked the space in the tank bathrooms however floors were muddy due to the surrounding area.
Camp kitchen was okay but the floor was very greasy.
Laundry facilities were handy and the ladies in reception were nice.
We also used the swim spa which was nice and relaxing.
I would recommend if wanting to be close to Hobart.

Big sites

An interesting holiday park that seems very popular.  Friendly ladies at reception though take awhile to serve you, however nice they acknowledge when arrive.
Only had powered site for a night, therefore just used shower facilities and onsite Nate's restaurant.  A bit run down but certainly unique shower/loo blocks available - like old tanks!  Very reasonably priced at $45 for van - similar to most in Tasmania
