This was our 2nd stay on this spectacular scenic property in Lovedale, which is located not far from lots of wineries, cafes and the Hunter Valley. Easy road access, very serene atmosphere and the owners are very gracious.

The Cottage is well maintained with 2 double bedrooms and a comfy pullout couch. Definitely great value particularly for this area, and the horses are very friendly too. Just 2 nights here really feels like a refreshing week away, and we'll definitely be back. Highly recommend! ❤️

This was a fantastic place to stay with a great outdoor area.The place has a great outlook and the property manager was quite happy to assist in any way possible.I would not hesitate to stay here again next time I visit

Clean, quiet and pet-friendly. Kids and pets can run-around without any worries. The BBQ is clean with two gas cylinders. Hot water pressure is amazing. Fire pitt is handy for winter nights. Loved every bit of it!!!!

We had a wonderful stay at Hunter Homestead. The house is very well equipped and we had everything we needed. Lovely views, friendly horses and lots of kangaroos about. Good value for money and we'll definitely book again for a family gathering.

We stayed here for my birthday spent in the Hunter. Whilst the property is a little dated, it did not detract at all. Full kitchen, 2 beds, sitting room and bathroom. T.v. But no WiFi...which was quite liberating! Lovely owner provided is with milk, bacon, eggs, bread and proper orange juice. Sugar, tea and coffee in cupboards. Bbq outside on verandah which faced the olive orchard that surrounds the property. Our young puppy was welcome and we were loaned a wire gate to keep him on the veranda..so kind. Have already recommended the cottage to friends.

Clean facility - provisions included were very generour. Scenery from the veranda was amazing. The horses were friendly & the kangaroos were awesome. The whole weekend was made special by the peace and tranquility of the cabin. The setting was beautiful and we would definitely book this cabin again. Look forward to our next stay there.

Great place to stay.  Dog friendly.  Only catch is that the yard isn't enclosed so we had to lock the dogs in the kitchen (which is linoleum anyway).

Cosy, clean and well equipped. The fire pit and complimentary breakfast were an added bonus. Great place to stay with friends and/or family whilst visiting the hunter valley

Hunter Honestead provided a family affordable option, with tranquility, plenty of room, great location and everything you could need. We will definitely be back.

We spent a long weekend at Hunter Homestead and had a great time! The house was spacious, with enough bathrooms for 5 women :) 
The property had some awesome views, very peaceful and quiet. My friend rose early and took some beautiful photos of the hot air balloons in the distance, and met with the friendly horse and kangaroos!
The coffee pods were fully stocked and added a nice extra touch for the morning. There is also a 2 bedroom cottage behind the main house, making it perfect for large groups and family getaways. There's a huge table outside undercover, and I noticed a fire pit for winter which would be great. 
Recommended for a lovely weekend getaway or Hunter Valley short getaway. 
Location in Lovedale was great.

Hunter hideaway

Disappointed to read other reviews that milk and bread were provided for others - we had to go back out one we arrived to buy some, which I had assumed would have been included in the "breakfast provisions" but apart from that the cottage had everything I expected.

The cottage is small and basic but clean and comfortable.

The best part was it being Pet Friendly, my puppy loved making friends with the horses and other dogs nearby.

It's about a 10 or so minute drive into Pokolbin (Broke Road) so it's not too far away from most things and there are some vineyards within walking distance.

Almost excellent

An ideal location for those wanting to be in the Rothbury and Pokolbin area surrounded by vineyards and eateries.  The Homestead is suited for large family and group gatherings as the main house accommodates up to 10 plus the sofa in the downstairs lounge room is a fold out bed.  Great value for money! Also there is a stand alone cabin with 2 bedrooms just 15 mtrs from the main  house so even more can stay, e.g. a work group or sporting team.

Hunter Homestead Review

Needed accommodation for full family in preparation for a wedding. The homestead and cottage were filled to the brim with people.

Great for this occasion as all facilities and provisions up to scratch. This was a great location and space for the 2 days. Plenty of room for the adults and all the children. 

So great was our stay that we are planning another family weekend in the near future and cant think of a better place. 

Ample breakfast for all was provides and the outdoor area was perfect, especially with the fire pit  and BBQ in full roar on a very cold night.

Cant fault the place as well as the owner who was very helpful when we ran out of coffee..... Plenty more provided.

Great for a large family getway.
