Great location and very friendly and helpful management staff but the whole 'resort' appears to be very run down and outdated. The office stunk of cigarette smoke. The personal presentation of management was also very poor.
My partner and I stayed in a one bedroom room for 3 nights which appeared to be quite clean although the furniture and bed cover was very old and looked a little grubby. The provided linen was clean. There was one giant cockroach sighted in the bathroom. There was air conditioning and also a ceiling fan. There was a small mini bar, microwave, kettle and toaster however no bench space. It was also irritating that the only sink was in the ensuite bathroom and it was grimy. The room opened up onto a communal concrete area/smoking area - where there was filthy plastic outdoor furniture. There is a bright green non functioning pool and spa and also a tennis court. There is also very old looking children's play equipment that looks very unsafe however there is signage warning of this. There are 2 horses on the property. One allegedly bites - there is signage warning of this. Overall we were happy that being our first visit to the area Port Macquarie offered us a lot of activities and sight-seeing so the only time we really spent in the room was during the evening. The motel is on a beautiful lush green property and has a lot of potential that sadly is just not being met.
