Macrossan House Boutique Holiday Apartments

Macrossan house was a very central place to stay, very close to restaurants and take away food, however there was cooking facilities available in the room as well as a BBQ near the pool. The hosts were awesome, very helpful and accommodating, the rooms were clean and tidy, very spacious with a comfy bed and lounge. I stayed there for 12 nights and had no complaints; I am full of praise for the service I had, as nothing seemed to be a problem. I totally recommend a stay.

Great size and set-up, comfy bed and couches, well-equipped kitchen and strong wifi.
Generally very calm and peaceful even though it's right in the thick of it in Macrossan St. Maybe avoid rooms above the office though as the entrance gate below slams a lot as people come and go so there is some regular noise from this.

Apartments are in the middle of town close to Coles, pubs, restaurants and everything is within walking distance.  Managers were very helpful with advise on tours etc. Rooms are clean and very comfortable.  Didn't have a chance to use the pool as we were too busy !!.  Underneath car parking is very tight -we had a large SUV and found it a bit hard to manoeuvre .  Would definitely stay here again and highly  recommend

Stayed here October for a 5 days. Beautiful room, fresh and modern, great bathroom, great bedroom, spacious living room. Easy underground parking, super friendly owner operators with great insight on the best sights and activities.

Our first visit to Port Douglas to stay and we lucked it in booking into Macrossan House Apartments. Gary and Jo are the best hosts who did all our bookings for various trips including transfers from and to Cairns. Their recommendations on the Mossman Gorge tour were spot on. The apartments are clean and quiet and yet only metres from the restaurants, shops and pubs. We will definitely be back and can only highly recommend this place. 

We have just spent a week here and we couldn't fault it in any way.  The location is perfect and surprisingly despite being on the main strip, was fabulously quiet.  The accommodation has everything you need and Jo and Gary are fantastic hosts.  Having had to cancel our first booking due to COVID, Jo and Gary were great at shifting our booking with no fuss at all.  We will go back!

My husband and I stayed here for 1 night and we couldn't fault it. The rooms are modern and comfortable equipped with cooking facilities. The staff were very friendly and hospitable. Excellent location, everything in walking distance. Very comfy bed. Thank you very much 

My husband and I are doing a trip around northern Queensland. We were due to spend a couple of nights in Cairns and a couple of nights in port Douglas. On the advice of friends we decided to come straight to PD and booked 3 days. We loved PD so much that we stayed for 6 and were very sad to leave. My new favourite place in Australia!

We stayed at Macrossan House Apartments and what a brilliant decision that was. No and Gary, the owners, were so welcoming and accommodating. They couldn’t do enough for us to ensure that we had the best stay.

The apartment was large, very nicely decorated/furnished, well equipped, spotlessly clean, quiet and the very large bed was soooo comfortable. 

The pool area was really nice with a bbq and there was also a laundry room.

I will be staying here on our next visit to PD.  I would suggest that anyone who wants to stay at Macrossan House should contact jo and gary direct for best rate which is what we did

We are almost locals (live in Cairns) and enjoy a couple of getaway nights in Port Douglas each year. This was our first stay at Macrossan House and we will definitely be back. Jo and Gary were delightful hosts and were very accommodating and hospitable.  We appreciated the early check-in and the offer of a late checkout.  Our unit was modern, spacious, very clean, and had everything we needed.  The icing on the cake was the central location - literally right in the middle of the Main Street and yet set back and totally quiet and peaceful! While there are many places that can claim to be within walking distance to everything in Port, this place takes this to a new level! My wife and I loved our stay.

Perfect getaway!

My husband and I loved our stay here so much we stayed an extra night! The rooms were very clean and spacious, had a resort feel, and amazing value for money. We felt very welcomed during our stay and would love to return. The location was central, with a delicious burger place across the street. 100% recommend ❤️

Beautiful accommodation, friendly hosts, great location

Stayed at the Macrossan House for two nights while visiting Port Douglas in January 2020. Jo & Gary, the hosts, were very friendly and accommodating to requests. They provided some great recommendations for places to go during our visit and will book your excursions for you at no cost. 

The apartments are well appointed, up to date, in perfect condition, and VERY clean. The kitchenette with a microwave and refrigerator is perfect for snacking and hosting a cocktail before dinner. 

If you book this you won’t be disappointed! 

Excellent accommodations & location!

My husband and I recently stayed at Macrossan House while attending a friend's wedding in beautiful Port Douglas. The accommodation was spotless, the room spacious and tastefully decorated. Trev and Pip were wonderful, very friendly and accommodating to our request to an early check in. We made use of the pool on most days, and the short stroll to all the boutique cafes and restaurants was very handy, it meant we didn't have to drive anywhere. We recommend Macrossan House and will definitely be returning again.....sooner rather than later.
