Moonah Amy Cottage Apartments

We stayed for 4 nights at the tail end of a two week tour of Tasmania - we're a family of 5. The house was spacious with 4 double bedrooms (2 with queen beds, 2 with twin beds), a cavernous lounge with large corner sofa, a separate dining room with small sun room attached, a good sized kitchen and 2 bathrooms. Washing machine and tumble dryer was included which, when travelling with kids, can be a god send. There is a small decked area with BBQ and a garden as well as off road parking. The house has lots of lovely original features having been built in the 1930's but has been updated for modern living. We found it very comfortable, well equipped and nicely presented. The location has its positives and negatives. Being right in the middle of Moonah it is walking distance to shops and restaurants, a 10 minute drive to the CBD/harbour. The downside is that it is in an industrial area, on the corner of a fairly busy road junction, with what seemed to be a 24 hour car wash complex opposite. There was a fair amount of ambient vehicle noise therefore which, at times, could be intrusive, more so in the rooms at the front of the property. It didn't disturb our overall enjoyment of the property though and we'd stay again next time we were in Hobart.
