We love The Anchorage, yesteryear building with all it’s character, nice change from all the bland modern offerings..

The office staff Fiona was exceptional. Freely upgraded me to a spa room for more comfort.Very kind.

Lovely historical room in a terrific old building, great bar and restaurant. Right across from the beach with views, easy walk to all the local attractions and landmarks. Only downfall was the lack of AC, but the room had a fab to help. Would stay again without hesitation

Ceiling fan had dust falling off it- while it was off!!Mirror frame was also very dusty. Heating was turned on when we arrived, but it was on cool, it was like entering a freezer! Spa jets were also very dirty, and so after specifically selecting a spa room, we decided against using it. We could hear neighbouring rooms using spa, shower and flushing toilet. Overall, not recommending to others and not returning.

Obviously the decor was dated but very clean.Staff member was lovely- approachable, engaging knowledgeable & helpful. Real surprise to have complimentary snacks (thank you).Was looking forward to in house dining but unfortunately was told it was not available during the dates we had booked.Would book here again if travelling to SA.

Classic hotel in an excellent location in Victor Harbor we were very happy with our stay. We’d booked a room with air conditioning but in the event it was quite cool and we didn’t have occasion to test it.The room was spacious but quirky, with a windowless annex with a single bed in it. Soundproofing wasn’t great, hearing that conversations were going on in a neighbouring room, however the night was quiet and problem free.The Anchorage is a period hotel and there were a number of areas where updating / redecoration would be beneficial. We were not bothered by this, appreciating the “character” but it is something to be aware of.We did wonder whether its days as a hotel might be numbered because there were a number of images on display showing a large modern multi-storey block alongside the original building, probably replacing the current newer wing and the car park - but we didn’t ask so don’t know.Regardless, we would be happy to stay again and if that slightly careworn period character is OK for you then go for it.As an aside we had dinner in the attached cafe/bar at the back. Very good and definitely recommended.

Great location, enjoyable stay, a little tired

Enjoyed our stay (wish we had been able to stay longer!) in this beautiful old building. The room was in the old part of the building, so we had a gorgeous room with all the wonderful old features and access to the front verandah. The views from the verandah over the ocean was amazing. Wish the room has a microwave though… Would definitely stay here again :)

This is a beautiful old hotel with stunning views of the beach. Stayed on a Saturday night and very peaceful. Staff were lovely and friendly. Especially Amy. Only suggestion is that the beds could do with a little upgrade or mattress topper. Restaurant downstairs with an amazing open fire. Highly recommend for stunning Victor Harbor.

Just got back from a 3 day stay here . We had the soa room with the 4 poster bed it was lovely and very much in keeping with the hotels heritage . The staff are so friendly and welcoming ,we would recommend this as a place to stay and unwind in victor harbour . The food was delicious too . Would definitely come back  again .

Great location , friendly staff, great food lovely room .

Beautiful location and a gorgeous old-style room. We had our own little section of balcony, too, which had a lovely view of the water. The bed was very comfy ...sadly the next morning the hot water ran out after one of us had a shower (prob 5-7min?)... So just something to be aware of. The bar/restaurant downstairs has amazing food and is very cosy. Would defs stay here again.

Perfect location, very comfy lovely room

We arrived at this hotel and booked in. Later we found that there was a problem with our booking. After speaking to Henry and Tristan the problem was solved and all was good. We then had dinner and wine at the restaurant and could not speak highly enough of all the staff. Great place to stay. Right on the water. Amazing service.

Amazing staff!

We stayed the night at the Anchorage and ate in the Bistro. The accommodation and dining were both excellent.
The owner and staff could not do enough for us. The food was tasty and well presented. All up this was a really nice stay and dining experience in a typical Australian pub. Big thank you to the owner and staff.

Really enjoyable stay and dining experience

We stayed one night in the Queen suite with our granddaughter who used the sofa bed. Room was clean and organised, with nice quality linen. It was really cold but the electric heater did a good job of keeping the room warm.  Check in wasn't as smooth as it could have been, but all the staff were friendly. Free parking in the hotel car park was appreciated, and our granddaughter loved the views from the balcony. We expected some noise from the restaurant as it was a Friday night but we heard nothing.
