Marulan Motor Inn

After being told by a well known motel in Goulburn that we didn’t have a booking, we called the Marulan Motor Inn and was warmly greeted by the owner/manager and informed we could have 2 rooms. Upon arrival we found him to be courteous and welcoming. The rooms were spotless and the bed was so comfortable. A little highway noise but not noticeable once the door was closed. Unfortunately the restaurant wasn’t open but we found somewhere to eat close by. Could not fault a thing. Will definitely use this hotel again on our annual trip to Victoria.

OMG this motel was so clean, parking right outside your room.The manager greeted me at the office door . The room had wine glasses, fluffy towels bowls, plates and plenty of tea and coffee would stay again. The gardens outside were kept well and the town of Maryland is only a stroll away will definitely stay again.

I know this is not a normal "travellers tale" but I think it needs to be told. Marulan/Tallong recently came under very severe bushfire threat. I was told, as I am disabled, that evacuation was a good idea. After 3 days of choking smoke and frazzled nerves, my wife and I agreed. We went to the Motor Inn. Rooms were offered at half price (near enough) and both the owner and his dedicated staff actually remained full-time at the Motel to ensure our comfort and safety. We were not the only people in this predicament. There were at least 3 other disabled people there and the rest of the rooms were full every night. Nothing, and I do mean NOTHING, was too onerous or bothersome to Paddy and his wonderful staff. I read some previous reviews here that carped on about the quality of the restaurant food. It needs to be stated - the restaurant was and is a seperate business, having nothing to do with the Motor Inn. As for the rooms, they were really well appointed. We lacked nothing for a 3 day enforced stay. Beds were extremely comfortable, supplies were kept up - tea, coffee, milk etc - and Paddy came to check on us every hour or so. He really is a great raconteur, with an incredible life story . Well worth a yarn or two. In short - this Motel, the owner and the staff (Lili) need OAM's, not brickbats and silly negative comments. Paddy..... many, many thanks. You went over and above.

Clean,modern,quiet,easy access from the highway north or south,well worth a stop.orchids growing outside your door,easy parking,well kept gardens, and the manager has many good stories to tell,as well as the resident dogs.Very enjoyable stay.

Stopped here for 1 night on a road trip, we loved the friendly host and well presented motel. The room was  clean and comfortable and the shower was just like home with plenty of hot water. We had dinner at the restaurant the dinner was really tasty and top marks to the friendly young girl serving us really good country hospitality.

You drive up to the motel and see a fantastic looking restaurant out the front and its not open. Rooms are large has all the mod cons you need , king bed is huge and comfortable , shower was good,  i dont understand why you have to pay more ,just because it has a king bed ?

Stayed for a week - room was clean and tidy; close to town; quite popular/busy hotel
Restaurant was closed so you have to make your own arrangements for breakfast and dinner but I knew that going in - plenty of cafes/basic restaurants close by

My wife and I stayed here late September 2018 for one night. I think we got the worst room as my son also stayed here the same night and his room was great.
Our room which we selected for disability facilities was not without it's faults. No toilet roll holder, No hand rails in shower, water basin in bathroom was so small it was extremely hard to fill the kettel, see photos. The TV channels were hard to select and channels would freeze until it was turned off. The queen size bed was ok though. The hotel seems a bit run down to me and needs bringing everything uptodate.

Pleasant furnishings and clean ... but my second bed squeaked and so did the bathroom door, both annoying when you are sharing a room.  Not much choice in the area so I guess they have a captive audience. The Duck Inn was fairly dire and slow. At least the air con worked in the 40 degree heat.

Adequate but not outstanding

Do not recommend! Rude proprietor rang me back after 7pm to cancel my booking that is in 5 days time, after accepting it earlier today. We are doing a couple of days of cycle touring, which old mate knew about as we discussed if there was somewhere secure to leave the bikes. Apparently, rain is forecast next week and we were told we might make the new carpets wet. So much for country hospitality.
