Worst steak sandwich I’ve had for years and for 18 dollars that was meant to be a lunch special. Soggy bread from wet tomato’s and cheap cheese looked like pink slime that was stained completely from all the beetroot juice that also made it soggy, lettuce looked like it was from last week.  And the steak was barely cooked or seasoned. Didn’t know rare was standard if not specified. Two of the front bar female staff were quite rude and unhelpful and oblivious to waiting customers that weren’t directly in front of them although one of the other ladies working was helpful. I won’t be eating there again and would not recommend unless you want less than sub par food and probably similar service.

Lunch

We stayed at the Carrollee Hotel for one night. The downstairs bar has been modernized and is very nice. However the upstairs rooms are  flea pits. The rooms have large direct opening grills onto the central hallway so all noise and light from the hallway comes straight into the room. There were vomit marks on the carpet. There were biting insects in the bed. Very primitive shared bathroom only. Only basin in the room. Big cracked window in door to deck. Massive gap under door to deck letting in cold air. Curtain on door to deck is very thin and inadequate and lets in all light from street. It only covers part of the window and rest of window lets in all street light. Leaking ceiling with bucket placed under it with water in the bucket bottom when we arrived. Grossly peeling ceiling. No tea and coffee in the room. Price for the room with all the above is SO OVERPRICED ($90). DO NOT STAY HERE.

Accommodation is overpriced and revolting

This is a Public bar with an upstairs accommodation area. The rooms are basic along with the communal areas. Privacy is very limited as rooms have open slats above doors for needed ventilation. Generous balcony joins most rooms, nice for big groups of friends staying together. Up high so nice views.

Bed, chair, table, sink. Easy parking.

Accommodation OK but not pleased with our meal. Fish not properly cooked and mash dry and uninviting.

I enjoyed my stay as it was a reasonable cost, comfortable and had a good atmosphere.

Shower facilities poor, plumbing in room grubby , furniture not appealing, and look grubby, no soap in ladies toilets.

No return!!

Not the fault of the hotel. When I arrived to check in there was no record of my booking. The staff went out of their way to find a room as every other accommodation venue in the town was booked out. Just as well I only needed a bed to fall into after doing overtime at work; somewhere to stay in case I was called back.

Not quite what I had booked.

Nice hotel. Good vslue for money.But please turn off some of the hotel lights, especially with such see through curtains.

Central position for a work visit. I have stayed many years ago - had a reputation for Best Steak ever  Food was Great!Room though a little disappointing Clean but unloved My curtains had about 1/10 of the rings connected  Would not take much to present as cared for rather than unloved
