Echuca Gardens is unique and fits an accommodation genre of its own. It could best be described as a fusion between an Airbnb x hotel x home stay x themed accommodation. Staying in the 2 bedroom apartment with my mum in her 60s and my dog (welcome with prior approval), really made our weekend away. A heads up that the entry to that specific apartment is designed for short people. The gardens are beautiful and showcase the owners art work. The accommodation options all have their own themes and the fittings include homemade stain glass windows and curtains which add to the charm. The owner is very hospitable and if you wanted more than just a hotel experience, I'd recommend taking up the offer to attend the free World Traveller night. It showcases the owners souvenirs, travel stories and includes a professional piano performance. It's also a great opportunity to meet the owner who is quite interesting and quirky and make friends with the other guests. The owner has a side business of antique photoshoots so it's worth taking the opportunity dress up for this. Mum hasn't stopped talking up this place since we left, so we will definitely return.
